Stele of Revealing Vector Art v 1.0

stele vector

The link to download:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A1gZ6eWWc_zGxGGiVprY0UasreyThaex?usp=sharing

I have uploaded 2 SVG files if you want to edit them, one colour and one black and white. With the colour version I have grouped the separate colours into their own objects, this way you can easily change all instances of one colour at the same time instead of having to fill each one in separately.

If you don't have time to mess around with SVG files, I have uploaded several pdf's for easy viewing or printing, in A4, A3, and A2 size. The A2 size has the Stele at full size, 31cm x 51.5cm (~12.2" x ~20.3").

I've put the pdf's in 2 folders: one with "additions" included in the image and one without. These additions are bits that weren't clear in the source image, but are based partly on other examples of Egyptian art and partly on Crowley's replica. They are the following:

fingers on Ankh's left hand
Nuit's fingers and thumbs of both hands
Nuit's eyebrow, nostril and lips
the line suggesting Nuit's legs under her skirt

There's a choice of 3 different colour schemes for the colour version:

"Original": the colours are picked from the source photo
"Bright": like the above but a bit more bright and "warm"
"RGB": mainly pure red, green, blue and yellow, a bit garish looking

If you want to print something out to colour in there's 3 different black and white ones with varying degrees of the black already filled in.

Now I will get to work on the reverse side of the stele. 🙃

Thanks,

Duck

(check the post count and time of post 😉 )

This is very cool. Any chance a bmp or png can be provided? I can always convert it, but the jpg gray-fuzz at the edges will still be there. I don't see the normal jpg "hash," so it's really quite clean.

Great work !

I could not open the Scalable Vector Graphic file in illustrator.

Some format that would keep the vectors and get rid of pixelation would be nice.

Really well done. Every one has its own merits. I like the B & W versions, for some reason, but the coloured ones are stunning.

It's very nice of you to make these available.

Huh? Every one seen previously may have its merits, but said merits (to be meritable or noticeable) are deviations from the one true item.

Huh? You may, of course, have your preferences. However, B&W is a step into the lesser (grayscale) dimension.

(I wanted to keep my post count at 666 forever but I guess I can't 🙂 )

Thanks for the replies.

You can try experimenting with layering the vector image with the photo to get some nice effects:

mix1
mix2

Here's a couple png's for now at an OK resolution:

I can do some more later. You could download Inkscape (its free) and "Export PNG file" from the File menu, its fairly easy.

I could not open the Scalable Vector Graphic file in illustrator.

An arcane mystery that may never be solved... 🙂

What version of Illustrator are you using? I don't have Illustrator but I'm interested to see why this is happening and see if there is a fix for it.

I opened the svg in a few different programs, though it worked in most of them it did misbehave in some, so its probably some compatibility thing caused by Inkscape.

You could open the SVG in Inkscape and save it as another file type like EPS. Or you could use one of the pdf's though the object grouping information will have been lost.

lol I had almost forgotten my katakana:  burasu? whats that mean?

Hebrew one looks good.  You could even leave out some of the yods I think.

A transliteration of "plus" I guess, as in "Macintosh Plus", I just erased the M.

But then you couldn't count well his name so well. I think Hebrew looks a bit like katakana, particularly in a modern font.

Glad you liked it, do you happen to know what the problem with Illustrator was? Always curious about these mysteries of computing so I can overcome them in future.

Oh and thanks for suggesting a vector stele in the first place in this other thread. Had I not read that post this may have just remained one of my many pipe-dream projects.

But you have manged to get the (PraeterMentat) Luck to drop a telegraph/telephone/alien-implant/wire into your Mind. You returned from the other shore to type out the secret code-cipher-puzzle-talismanic-etching without all that bothersome QBL interpretation.

I am sure that was it's own form of high intensity meditation.

That was kind of how I wanted it to go though I wish I could say I lived up to such a lofty ideal, I'm a very poor meditator with crap concentration ability. I mainly had some talks on Youtube playing in the background, not so much on Thelema/Egypt as might have been appropriate but mainly on Hinduism/Buddhism. A few of the speakers I can recommend:

Swami Sarvapriyananda, an Indian Advaita monk dude who communicates well on traditional Advaita.

Uma Thurman's dad, Robert Thurman, a great speaker on Tibetan Buddhism.

Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, another engaging speaker on Tibetan Buddhism.

I also listen to some of this Sadhguru guy, though he seems a bit like a Hindu equivalent of some mega-church pastor. I liked his talks on Shiva (the original one not the Lashtal one).

@shiva

Did you figure out how to export some PNG's? If not I can churn out a few including some "clipart" of the individual figures that your welcome to use in any projects, what kind of resolution would you want?

Well, I can always change anything, like to jpg to a png, but when one starts at the jpg level, there is already some degeneration involved. However, after examining your work at the pixel level, I have assumed you used NO compression at all and I'd just load it up and say "Save As PNG."

I forgot to fill in some of the lines in RHK's "kilt" in one of the B&W versions, now re-uploaded.

@shiva

I meant exporting PNG's of the vector file from Inkscape. SVG files may seem a bit "scary" if you haven't used them before so I've churned out a few PNG's for you, let me know if you want any more or if you want a higher resolution. I've done a few "clipart" ones as well. They're in the "PNG files" folder at this link:

This final line art image is composed of exactly 77777 "nodes":

77777

It came to around 77750 when I had finished everything so I tweaked it a bit to get that nice number.

Hadit came to 11111 nodes. I saw it going that way before I had finished, it ended up at that "auspicious" number on its own.

11111

I've made a start on the reverse side:

reverse

Didn't take too long to get it all sketched out, now it just needs to be cleaned up.

I see the Stele has been included in the galleries, a great honour!

Never did hear back from the museum, I doubt they'd be too bothered about it anyway so I have now uploaded the SVG's to Wikimedia Commons with a "CC0" (no copyright) licence:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Stela_of_Ankhefenkhonsu

I have no problem with anyone using them commercially, in fact I'd be pleased. They'd look cool on a mug or T-shirt.😊

I see it's been permanently (for now, at least) mounted above the current image from the Gallery on the HomePage.

This will allow ample exposure for examination by the secret agents of museums and hotels everywhere to examine this work to see if you have disturbed their copyright or hotel logo. Looking at it, I just see a really clean Stele, one that looks just like all those blurry others.

And I guess you didn't bother with that messy licensing, so the secret agents won't care because there are no monies, drugs, or sexes involved.

The last thing it should be is "blurry", did you find the PNG's I mentioned? Here's the link again:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A1gZ6eWWc_zGxGGiVprY0UasreyThaex?usp=sharing

You do know how to use Google Drive, right? Double click on the folders/files the same way as if they were on your computer, you can then download what you want. And like I said, if you want any different variations/higher resolution I'm happy to help.

And I guess you didn't bother with that messy licensing

Its nothing so important or complicated as it might have sounded. When you upload a file to Wikimedia Commons you select what type of free licence you want for your file. I just went with "Creative Commons CC0" ("No Rights Reserved") as I'm not bothered about attribution, I'm just happy if it is of use to someone. Its the kind of thing I was hoping to find when I was looking for Stele myself, but couldn't find one.

No. I once was lost, but now I've found
Amazing Stelae in a group of three.

Yes, your link worked.

(I did not find the PNGs you mentioned because my hearing is deficient. Maybe it was my eyes this time.

I am a fan of the Do-It-Yourself doctrine. I think it's a non-negotiable thing. You apparently got in that Line and He forced you to do the deed while everyone else copied and pasted. He forced me to do the same thing, on a digital device, but I only did the parlor scene. The lines of little pictures called Text didn't get done because, as you know, I don't do well with ferenghi lingos.

Stele of Revealing Vector Art - Reverse side

stele colour reverse 666

Happy "Greater Feast"!

I finished the reverse side of the Stele, it's now in the same link as before in the "Reverse (back)" subfolder:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A1gZ6eWWc_zGxGGiVprY0UasreyThaex?usp=sharing

You'll find SVGs which you can edit in a program like Inkscape, a few PNGs at an OK resolution. Includes PDF's for easy viewing/printing in colour, B&W and an unfilled lines version which you could print out and paint in, in A4, A3 or A2 (life size).

Includes versions with or without the "666" at the top. Also one with the mysterious "4784" seen in some photos of the Stele.

stele4784
4784

This number has a few curious properties:

4784 - 666 =

Spoiler
4118 (its like a 418 with an 11 in it)

4784/666 =

Spoiler
7.183183...

4784/718 =

Spoiler
6.66295

If it was one more or one less it wouldn't have all 3 of those properties. How odd.

Now my post count has reached 718 (count well its name) I will be taking a break from the forum. I need to concentrate on more "boring" things such as my health and fitness which I've been neglecting the past few months. I may return someday when I'm doing better to post some more of my unique brand of nonsense.

Thanks for all the entertainment everyone here has provided this year.

Best wishes,

Duck.
