As anyone talked about this book yet by Jeffery Evans and  Peter Levenda?

My correspondent friend Stephen Dziklewicz of Starfire (great articles) alerted me to it, for which I am grateful.

I have just started reading it and it is extremely fascinating so far, for sure.

The main premise is that there is a mathematical key to it all and it's not just Achad's, which does not seem to be refuted; it's also a hidden code of subconscious math regarding the Golden Ratio which was encoded without the Beast's knowing.  Using the verse and chapter numbers.

So it's, coming along interestingly.

Anyone?

As a member of ACDC (Aleister Crowley Dependant Collective) I of course had to buy it, it has Liber AL in the title. So far I have only thumped through it, it is very Typhonian indeed. My first impression was that the Gematria in it did not convince me quickly enough to climb up high on my reading list so it has to wait. I have at least "learned" so far that the "ratio of female to male Alien abductees is 68.34 percent female to 31.55 percent male" and have duly noted that "the decimals are the 9th and 10th Fibonacci numbers". I guess the missing part to 100 percent did not identify as either female or male.

Unlikely that it doesn't. Maybe this:

Rites of the Mummy: The K'rla Cell and the Secret Key to Liber AL

The following synopsis/description of the book is given:

An arcane ritual reveals a code hidden within Thelema's most holy book.

Over a period of several years, the former head of Kenneth Grant's Typhonian Order in the United States, conducted a bizarre sexual ritual with elements of Thelema, Lovecraft, and the Egyptian mummification ceremony to unlock a mathematical code buried in plain sight in Aleister Crowley's Book of the Law.

Jeffrey Evans, a follower of Aleister Crowley's Thelema since his teenage years, had an encounter on a bridge in Washington, DC, with a being he identified as his holy guardian angel. This being--Karla--provided him with the inspiration to begin a series of rituals incorporating Egyptian and Lovecraftian elements in an effort to traverse the Tunnels of Set: pathways on the "dark side" of the Qabalistic Tree of Life. The ritual, conducted with his wife, Ruth Keenan, employed cross-dressing and bondage as well as Cthulhian imagery and chanting, and resulted in a series of revelations concerning the mathematical code hidden within the verses of Crowley's Book of the Law: a circumstance that Crowley always suspected but was never able to prove, not even with the help of accomplished mathematicians. Evans tried in vain to demonstrate this code to other members of the Typhonian Order, to no avail, but a chance meeting online with Peter Levenda resulted in Levenda's taking a closer look at the data and what he discovered astounded him. He agreed to help bring this discovery to the attention of the general public.

There has been very little new work published in the field of Thelema in the last 10 years or so, at least since the death of Kenneth Grant. Most publishing concerning Crowley has been biographical or reissues of Crowley's own material. This work is a departure from all of that. It is new material, completely unexpected within the Crowley/Thelema/OTO environment, for it offers a new approach to the mathematical nature of Thelema that so far has been based on Qabalah. This work brings attention to the existence of a sacred geometry within the verses of the Book of the Law: a completely unexpected discovery but nonetheless mathematically verifiable. It bridges the gap between Thelema, Freemasonry, and Templarism, as well as Gnosticism, demonstrating a continuum of esoteric thought spanning millennia.

I've personally enjoyed some aspects of Levenda's writing through his Sinister Forces -trilogy.

But Jeffrey employing cross-dressing and bondage to reveal mathematical code hidden within the verse of Liber AL? I don't know about the golden ratio, but Crowley himself at least in his message to Achad and other places highlighted the π/pi sequence:

" \ = 418."Thou knowest not." Your key opens Palace. CCXX has unfolded like a flower. All solved, even II.76 & III.47. Did you know π = 3.141593? And oh! lots more!"

And:

Now I knew that in the value of the letters ALHIM, 'the Gods', the Jews had concealed a not quite correct value of π, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter If I prefix our Key, 31, putting , Set or Satan, before the old Gods, I get 3.141593, π correct to Six places, Six being my own number and that of Horus the Sun

Crowley himself indulged in such things on occasion.

If these things were or were not in accordance with their inclinations, they could still be powerful tools.

I admit I've never been clear on the mechanics of the K'rla Cell Working itself but I can easily see work involving inducing a receptive state for visions and insights as working in this capacity, similar to Crowley's work with the Aethyrs.

There are quite a few details in the revealing review - too many to take on right now, but this trans caught my attention. There is no need tostart at the bottom (cross-dress zero), so let's start at the top (The End).

In the IX* of the Order That Fell through Infiltration, there is a certain state/trance that one (or both) falls into wherein the lady assumes a more masculine appearance, demeanor, and intent, while the duke/dude finds himself rendered passive, feminine, and receptive.

This phenom is known within the trade as a Polarity Switch. It is, in fact, a "necessary" prerequisite to "success." However, I have not seen this key (another "key") writ about in the scriptures or the docs.

This phenom may easily be entered by hetero-couples without seeking it. It comes about naturally. But for folks who haven't found the trigger, an angel may come and say, "cross dress!" Why? Just like the initiation ceremonies that attempt to duplicate the the stages of the invisible spectrum of consciousness, cross-dressing attempts to duplicate the phenom of the polarity switch.

Actually, any "deviation" from the straight coupling are modifications added on in order to trigger some phenomenon.

This polarity switch concept is applicable to anything. The relation between the Aspirant and the Angel, the mystical solo inner surrender to the not-self, the reaction to a physical attack being completely passive (wu-wei), etc.

I can easily see work involving inducing a receptive state ...

I see that you understand the drivel that I have expounded.

On an even furtherly expanded note, it should be noted (which it is, now) that after such mystical or magical switches, one (anyone) finds themselves reverted to the "normal" state of whoever they usually are, but a goal of attaining this exalted state in daily life, even while shopping in WalMart or mowing one's lawn, may be set.

Do not confuse this goal/state with hermaphroditism (having both sexes available for reproduction in the same vehicle. The state is more accurately termed andogynism, which implies that the sexes have merged and the resulting (Kether-like) point does not recognize duality.

Heavy stuff, if one can pull it off. Arabic Sativa may help. Heavier artillery may be required to get the initial trigger, but after that, the triggering gets easier. The resulting state does not last. Maybe for some ascetic Tibetan lama, who has really attained, it can be held steady in daily life - but most Westerners (the spawn of the Great Satan) live in an environment wherein the ten-thousand distractions are lined up, ready to present their business card with deals to work out, so it's harder for us to get more than a momentary assumption.

Cross dressing is not required, but it may be necessary for some, in order to "get the idea" in a denser form.

While of course related, you know of course that Pi is not the same thing as Phi.

Pie Pi = 3.14159... and relates to a circle and it's diameter/circumference ratio

Phi = 1.618033988749... and relates to two quantities, if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio) and is generally represented with a rectangle although of course the Fibonacci sequence relates to it as well, with the outpouring of the spiral.

The nuts and bolts of the Rite involved use of the Death Posture and sensory deprivation.  The Priestess was bound, gagged and blindfolded and stimulated short of arousal.  In such a highly receptive state, the numbers of this revelation started pouring in uncalled for but made total mathematical sense.  It's pretty neat.

Of course an external or Malkuthian approach to this Polarity Switch is not necessary, but helpful for some.  The key is becoming the All/Androgyne internally, as one has been both female and male throughout their various incarnations.

zackly.

In the book they also bring up this tendency to happen naturally in shamans, priests, etc.   The merging of the 2 into 1 into None.

Sri Ramakrishna was 'married' to Kali but if I recall he also dressed as a woman from time to time in trance states, becoming the Bride of God.

You (we'all) can find similar tactics employed by the semi-gov operations at Montauk, as described by your associate, Mr. Moon, and revealed more openly by other authors. The Montauk stuff went further and used drugs, sex, pain, electricity.

Regardless of the results, these extremes are examples of forcing a state or a result. But then, so is taking a medicinal catalyst. So I suppose there's nothing wrong with forcing if the participant(s) is fully informed and enthusiastic - there are masochists, you know.

Honestly (you can trust me), holding one's breath for 60 seconds is forcing the issue - and we've all tried that, haven't we? - even though some ancient texts warn against it. One early Liber suggests pushing the envelope in every direction [Hint: Do it while you're young].

I am making no moral/value judgement here (see other places for that). My complaint is against poor morality when the gov undertakes big-time psychic experiments, using outrageous technology combined with brute force in order to develop siddhis that are a little bit science, and a big bit of war. Well, they say, the other guys are doing it, so we need to keep up with the Jones', the Wangs, and the Vlads.

There is absolutely nothing about spirit, liberation, enlightenment, etc mentioned in the gov projects. I don't know if it appears in this K'rla stuff. Does it?

I heretically will not accept Liberace sequences, geometrical shapes, out-of-body jumps with visions of dragons, that sort of thing, unless it results in a practical something that enhances the one thing (under many names) that seems to be missing.

Of course, it doesn't matter what I accept ... but anyway, is it there?

Did Jeffrey beg Ruth for mercy;
to not toy with his heart
like a cat with a mouse game ?

or did he simply answer a math puzzle ?

Did he give his soul to Ruth, Karla or to deal with a mathematical code ?

Which seems odd because to me seems like it would be intuitive.

This phenom may easily be entered by hetero-couples without seeking it. It comes about naturally.

Gender and also "active" and "passive" sexual roles.  Non hetero partnerships tend to find such polarities on their own, though regardless of orientation the polarities can be mutable, though some tend to get locked in to a particular dynamic.

Gender mutability itself also can aid in broadening the parameters of identity.

This polarity switch concept is applicable to anything. The relation between the Aspirant and the Angel, the mystical solo inner surrender to the not-self,

In light of the K'rla Cell Working's application of bondage, the dominant/submissive dynamic can also be applied in a similar way.  I've known of people who have approached Work with their HGA from a submissive viewpoint.

the reaction to a physical attack being completely passive (wu-wei), etc.

The essence of "soft" martial arts like tai chi.

I see that you understand the drivel that I have expounded.

It's hardly drivel, and I do understand it.  I was involved with an extended series of workings involving the Aethyrs myself , which also involved switching between active and passive roles.

Exactly. And that's part of what I'd mentioned elsewhere, about the gnosis having little use unless applied.  It's great having these experiences in the ritual chamber, but what will you do with them?  I've seen people type up gorgeous visions, but, really, unless they lead to something, how different it is from a really good movie or VR experience?

Heavier artillery may be required to get the initial trigger, but after that, the triggering gets easier.

Heavier artillery needs not be libations, other induced experiences also work.  But you know that too.

so it's harder for us to get more than a momentary assumption.

One works to "fix the volatile", or "crystallize the nucleus", in order to make keep the gains made.  A part of Daimonic Integration.

That does sound pretty neat!  And it makes perfect sense. It works much like I'd thought it would in terms of effect. I've done similar things myself. Sensory deprivation can be very powerful, and cutting off some senses sharpens others, and aids in turning the senses inwards.

Posted by: @christibrany

Of course an external or Malkuthian approach to this Polarity Switch is not necessary, but helpful for some.  The key is becoming the All/Androgyne internally, as one has been both female and male throughout their various incarnations.

And it goes beyond simply gender polarities, to the reconciliation of all dualities, male and female just being immediate representations.

The Montauk stuff went further and used drugs, sex, pain, electricity.

certainly all effective in their own way.

So I suppose there's nothing wrong with forcing if the participant(s) is fully informed and enthusiastic - there are masochists, you know

The dividing line between indulgence and transgression, and from another perspective, between practical and non practical application.

One early Liber suggests pushing the envelope in every direction [Hint: Do it while you're young].

Hi.  😉

I don't know if it appears in this K'rla stuff. Does it?

In that it involves inducing receptive gnostic states in order to receive revelations that, ideally, lead to further initiation and work, I'd say yes.

I heretically will not accept Liberace sequences, geometrical shapes, out-of-body jumps with visions of dragons, that sort of thing, unless it results in a practical something that enhances the one thing (under many names) that seems to be missing.

Therein lies the key. Or a key.

This passage struck me

''according to the field theory of telepathic transmission, the dreaming mind of Lovecraft may have served as a sensitive Neuro physiological antenna , transmitting via dreams the knowledge of the activities of the Old Ones.

Such activities being, somehow connected with the Gateway of the Bridge Water Bay Triangle.  That the Triangle is such a Gateway has been well attested to.

In 'Mysterious America' , Lauren Coleman reports a typical incident : Several years ago , an expedition of Massachusetts archaeologists discovered an eight thousand year old Indian burial site on Grassy Island in the Hockomock Swamp.

When the graves were opened, the red ochre within the tombs bubbled and dissolved mysteriously.  And Evey photograph taken of the site failed to develop.'"

Now we're getting somewhere. Mysterious phenomena. I know all about pics that flop or flit. Along these lines, we have pundits/preachers who say that Jack Parsons permanently opened a gateway in Devil's Canyon (Pasadena - where he set off his rockets), and all our present problems are due to this, plus acts by his mentor, Mr Crowley.

There are many similar stories, usually  linked to places and personas, but I only remembered this one because, you know, Mrs (Misters) Parsons and Crowley were involved.

I've read some stories along these lines. It always fun to hear exaggerated urban legends associated with Crowley. Crowley never made it to Pasadena, yet his name pops up in stories about Devil's Canyon because of his association with Parsons.

Where these Devil's canyon legends lose me is when they associate any crime that happens in the area with some sort of Crowley curse. Bad things happen all over LA and in every canyon/street/suburb over the years. From what i've read there was nothing unusual about the incidents per se. But the Crowley legend lives on in many forms, true or not.

When not engrossed in the frequented zones of humdrum hackneyed expressions; a different pitch, like the sound of buzzing insects can be heard.
Ecumenical boys and girls might awaken to the fact that they are a construct of someone else's idea. Which when done consciously one can choose to embody, conjure or dispose of, at will. Such as in situations when perhaps one runs into Saint Peter or a family member on the street.
Shadows of past selves/lives may enter the awareness; strange unspeakable angles might make themselves apparent, shades and outlines may flop and flit; things may take on different hue; graves may open.
Some say the odors of Cyanobacteria on the stones and trees seeping in, trigger the signal, others say its not a signal, but a bait from the ancient old ones making their crossing and passing through.

Some perennialist authors like Charles Upton are quite vocal about this. Some of them have gone far enough to equate The Roswell incident being a direct result of Parsons and Hubbard skrying/using the Enochian tablets of Air in their workings and the (unidentified) aerial phenomena of Roswell and the like being (temporal) manifestations of (enochian?) air elementals. Sometimes LSD/psychedelics are blamed, along with the activities of "Pagan black magicians" and the agents of counter-initiation.

This quote is from Charles Upton interview with Samuel Bendeck Sotillos:

As I see it, the UFO “aliens” are denizens of the intermediary or psychic plane, what Muslims call the Jinn. So it is not surprising that the use of psychedelics could make one more vulnerable to incursions from that world. René Guénon in The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times [1953] spoke of “fissures” appearing in the “Great Wall” separating the material plane from the intermediary plane, fissures that open our world to “infra-psychic” forces; to me the UFO phenomenon is a perfect example of this process. These fissures appear due to cyclical degeneration and the approaching dissolution of our world, but they are further widened and exploited by human activity, sometimes unconscious, sometimes deliberate. I believe that such things as the spread of the electronic media, including the internet, the liberation of nuclear energy, the use of psychedelics and the general fascination with psychic powers and the paranormal continue to widen the cracks in the Great Wall, which, since it acts as the border between the material and the psychic worlds, can be affected by both material and psychic means; the very fact that such powerful psychic experiences can be produced by a material substance like LSD undoubtedly furthers this process. And it is interesting in this context that, according to Timothy Leary [1920-1996], LSD was not “activated” as a psychedelic until the first atomic bomb was detonated in New Mexico. (On the material side, this border apparently has something to do with the electromagnetic spectrum, which is why automobile engines will often die and electronic equipment malfunction in close proximity to a UFO.) Furthermore, those people Guénon called “agents of the Counter-Initiation”[32] are working to widen the cracks in the Great Wall consciously and deliberately.

The case of pioneer rocket scientist Jack Parsons [1914-1952] comes immediately to mind. Parsons was a follower of black magician Aleister Crowley [1875-1947] and an associate of L. Ron Hubbard [1911-1986], another follower of Crowley, who founded the Church of Scientology and who also (according to my correspondence with Beat Generation writer William Burroughs [1914-1997] in the late 1960’s, when Burroughs was in the process of breaking with Scientology) had a background in Naval Intelligence, something confirmed by Peter Levenda in his trilogy Sinister Forces: A Grimoire of American Political Witchcraft. Parsons, according to UFOlogist Jacques Vallée [b. 1939] in his book Messengers of Deception [1979], claimed to have met a “Venusian” in the Mojave Desert; according to Levenda he performed Pagan rituals at his launchings. He went on to co-found both the Aerojet Corporation and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory; a crater was named after him on the dark side of the Moon. Parsons openly stated that he was working to open a “door” into another dimension; it was shortly after his Mojave Desert rituals that the first major post-WWII civilian sightings of UFOs occurred in North America, through of course there is no way of knowing if the two are related. (In the careers of Crowley, Parsons and Hubbard we can see clear indications of the action of the Counter-Initiation.)[33] So conscious or unconscious “invocations” of the Jinn appear to be a major factor in the breakdown of the energy-wall between the material and the intermediary plane; such invocations are undoubtedly inspired by the Jinn themselves, specifically the kafir or unbelieving Jinn (the demons, that is; the Qur’an teaches that some of the Jinn are unbelievers and some are Muslims). In other words, the kafir Jinn are working to break down the Great Wall from their side as well. When the Wall finally crashes, our world will end.

It would be a shame, because - honestly - the II:76 thread was at least kind of on topic regarding the purpose of the site. I don't know what elitemachinery wrote, but I am guilty of derailing it quite a bit with my comments on what I think "solutions with your name in it" might mean. I am sorry for that. This thread should not be polluted by that.

I hope and I think that another "solution" thread will open, because since the last update of Gillis' solution collection there were quite a few new ones. RTC's  pathetic effort, Batheeeba Ashe's, but also other ones, and maybe they should be handled more openly than what I did to herupakraath's one. I got carried away by its sheer bullshitness. So, yes, let's leave that out of THIS thread, and wait for the II:76 resurrection (it will occur just as naturally as solvers occur every few months/years). Too bad private messages don't work any longer because I surely would like to know what got the thread locked.

Fine. Then you can pay Elite's fine, or take his days in jail, for him.

Anyone can start a new thread on a similar (or same - different name) topic. So there's no real loss. Anyone can publish their solution by starting their own thread, or by finding one that fits. Comments on submissions that provide the name of the solver seem to be on topic to me and there's no need to consider guilt - unless motivated by guile.

Aha. Grape Minds think alike, or along a similar route. Shall I start it, or do you wanna?

Well, I can confirm that one. There's a section in Inside Solar Lodge where I describe the sync between UFO sightings and LSDs with ceremonial trappings. I'm too [insert word] right now to copy and paste.

do subscribe to the theory that Trinity (1945) blew a hole in the etheric web that quarantined us from these pesky other dimensions. Next door to Trinity (at White Sands) is a town, Socorro, that hosted the first UFO crash in 1945 (documentation available if anyone wants it) - and Roswell, not far away for a saucer, followed in '47.

"potentially libelous" info is not allowed...oops, sorry...but that's not necessarily the reason for the thread being locked...i think the thread had run it's course after 1500 posts over 30 pages..

There will be new threads and there are also old threads on the subject that are still unlocked if anyone wants to revive/bump them.

Are you trying to get this thread locked too?

The owner of LAShTAL deleted the comments and locked the thread. Why don't you leave it at that?

Agreed.

Well, I can confirm that one. There's a section in Inside Solar Lodge where I describe the sync between UFO sightings and LSDs with ceremonial trappings.

The UFO sightings in the 60s (and many newspaper articles that you sight about these sightings) interest me more than the newer sightings that I hear about because the military in the 60s didn't have access to technology that they have today. These days, a sighting could be a new type of military device...or it could be a hoax perpetrated by someone with a drone dressed up to look spacey.

In the 60s when these sighting were happening, many people were pretty spaced out and perhaps a bit high, but enough sober people saw these things to justify articles in the local newspapers. I plan to scan the newspaper archives to see what I can find at some point.

@shiva what cities/newspapers do you remember publishing such articles?

what cities/newspapers do you remember publishing such articles?

Every day, the L.A. Times (or was it the afternoon Herald Examiner (L.A.) was delivered to the Tong house. This was the only paper I looked at during the '60s. If Frater Sol ("Ippy") had not subscribed, we would have no paper at all. '65-'68 was the hot time.

Later (late '70s), a few reports came in via TV (the New Zealand flight, as I remember).

Here, I have resurrected the (small) section ...

Before there was a Solar Lodge, there was a small group of people who practiced Raja Yoga and Ceremonial Magick.

This all took place right in the middle of the 1960's. Legal LSD-25 was flooding the market, The Age of Aquarius was just beginning, and flying saucers were being seen and photographed everywhere in the world.

I always examined the newspaper in the afternoon of the day following any all-night ceremony, and the paper would often (very often) have reports of UFO formations somewhere in the world.

1966 was the beginning of the Mother of All UFO Waves, which lasted throughout 1966 and 1967. i

Correlation Note - A massive first wave of legal LSD-25 entered the bodies and minds of an entire generation of humanity - at the same time that a massive wave of radar-visible UFO sightings was being played out in the world's skies.

"We are the UFOs," Capricornus would say, and the newspaper's flying saucer synchronicity with our ceremonies became so common that it was practically ignored, except to say, "Look! UFOs in the news again!"

And then we would chuckle, shrug and get on with the next task.

Here's an overview of the various "massive waves" of UFO sightings to orient your project ...

Yes, I learnt of that only this afternoon, and was very sorry to hear it. She died on Monday, I see from her partner Fred Fowler's Facebook page. She did a lot of practical magical work in the course of researching and producing her Shadow Tarot. As well as the Shadow Tarot she produced some fine artwork, and she corresponded with Kenneth Grant over several decades, an interesting correspondence which I hope is published one day.

Linda also wrote short stories, and sent me a fine one for inclusion in the first issue of Starfire in 1986, "Great Dismal", all about a woman living alone next to a swamp called "Great Dismal Swamp" who gradually evokes a creature to visible appearance from the depths of the swamp. A delicious story.

Rest in peace, Linda.

a swamp called "Great Dismal Swamp"

This is a real place on the Virginia/North Carolina border; once perhaps a million acres of dismal-ness, still about 45-50,000 acres. It was known for "maroon" colonies of escaped slaves before Emancipation. There's also a (much smaller) Dismal Swamp (without the "Great") in New Jersey.

At the time of first reading the story by Linda, I thought that "Great Dismal swamp" was just a fictional location. Then, on the morning that I was due to collect the finished first issue of Starfirefrom the printers, I came down to the kitchen, switched on the radio, and the news was about a major train derailment which had occurred hours earlier in the USA. "Where was this derailment?" asked the anchorman. "It was as the train was travelling through an area known as 'Great Dismal Swamp' " was the reply. I was astounded. Until then I had assumed that the setting of Linda's story was fictional; to be confronted with the awful truth on the very day of publication of the first issue was, I thought, a striking synchronicity.

Thanks for the news regarding Linda Folario's passing...

I suppose it would not be incidental note that it was just a few days ago that I would pull the Shadow Tarot off the shelf, after a long time, but a great urge,  and with a suit true to form, an appreciation for that work came to fore there on a sunny morning to so pull a card and appreciate the words on the insert...

We once exchanged some letters, with stamps on the envelope....and then there are other ways that communication take place...and the work continues~

Fare thee well!

Well it appears Frater Kephra-ma-Ast, who passed into the grade of XI Typhonian O.T.O. as Shemsw-nn-ASt impregnated by the forces of the old ones has come up with a Qabalah of Irrational Numbers hidden in Liber Al. The book speaks of his meeting with his HGA sparking a journey into The Rites of The Mummy. One can imagine his initiation into Miami Cuban Santeria/Lucumi; as minutes grew into forever and the iyawo's links with the past were disconnected; given an opportunity to escape while in the clutches of acute paranoia as the sense of horrible doom took hold and an unspeakable terror infiltrated the field of perceptive of being. He was initiated into the house of Yemaja as well as the Los Guerros. His Ifa consultation seems to have turned no shells up. The book is a mixture of stuff from biography to explanations of math, platonic solids, tattva's, to non conformity to gender and non normative gender models of Iban shamans whose practice got stifled by the ban imposed by the British against the belief that cutting off the head of someone gave them possession of the spirit which in turn made the collector more powerful.
Have a read let us hear what you think.

I flicked through the book when it came out but I haven't done a deep dive yet. The guy was featured in one of Kenneth Grant's books, so he's obviously got something to say and some insights. That said, I don't think it's likely he's got the grand solution to Legis 2:76 but just another fragment of the previous attempts.

That said, the K'rla Cell workings, much like AhG's Points Chaud workings, are (via the Typhonian stream of Thelema) a genuine area we should be taking seriously in terms of the future of Thelema and ways it will continue to be developed throughout our current Aeon.

"There is none that shall be cast down or lifted up: all is ever as it was." - Liber Legis 2:58
"To Me do ye reverence! to me come ye through tribulation of ordeal, which is bliss." - Liber Legis 3:62

Indeed, the Evanses and the K'rla Cell Working were covered in a chapter in Beyond the Mauve Zone.

The results are interesting, and as I mentioned earlier in this thread the techniques are certainly valid and effective.  I am interested in seeing what comes from their work in the future.

I am honest: the book is quite interesting in some way, it's clearly a serious effort and sometimes nicely written, on the other hand it reminds me of myself on speed/cocaine many decades ago.

I am trying a short summary of its solution, which shows a lot of the problems I have with it. This more or less is the total of pages 249 to 250 in the book, overwritten "Analysis of AL II:76"

AL II.76 is the 142nd verse of the book as a whole, and 142 = (2 x 71)  -  71 = LAM

I get it that LAM is superimportant to Typhonians, twice important because of 2 x LAM?

(4 x 6) = 24

Proper math

(3 x 8) = 24

Again so.

ABK (or 2 x 2 x 20) = 80

That seems weird, let's look at the explanation:

The first "word", ABK, can be transliterated into Hebrew as A = Aleph, or Atu 0, which by the mathematics of Thelema becomes 0 = 2; B transliterated as Beth equals 2; and K transliterated as Kaph equals 20.

Why are Beth and Kaph are not equated with their Atus? It would be 1 and 10.

2 4 = 24

Okay, so this time no math, just connecting two numbers into one.

ALGMOR (by Notariquon = 1+3+3+4+7+2) = 20

Hm. Aleph = 1, Lamed = 30, Gimel = 3, Mem = 40, Ajin = 70, Resh = 200. Okay, the Zeros obviously do not count.

3 Y X [algebraically 3(YX) = 3(2x4)] = 24

What? Let's look at the explanation again:

Making Y = 2 (as the I or 1 divided) and X = 4 (as the Cross of the four quarters), gives the algebraic form 3YX = (3 x 2 x 4) = 24 as well.

I really don't get it when you have to multiply and when you have to add, but why not?

24 = 24

89 = 89

Everything okay here.

RPSTOVAL (by Notariquon = 1+8+6+7+6+1+3) = 32

Alright, the first thing that comes to mind is: why do 8 letters only give 7 numbers? Let's look at the explanation:

RPSTOVAL (ΡΠΣΤΟϜΑΛ) by στενογραφια in Greek reads as (1+8+6+7+6+1+3) = 32. This numeration counts the letter stau (the combined sigma+tau) as six, the value given to it after the letter Φ replaced the obsolete letter digamma, originally enumerated as 6. Sigma-plus-Tau became equal to 6 because (Σ+Τ) = 500 = Φ. The ancient digamma (F), similar to our modern English "F", is equivalent to the Hebrew letter Vav.

O - Kay. So this is weird, but conclusive (I use this word not in its common sense). Just some good old mixing of Greek and Hebrew qabalahs.

= 341

= (112 + 220)

= SHIN MEM ALEPH

What? Explanation:

The sum of these four numbers, or (152 + 20 + 137 + 32) = 341, the sum of the Mother Letters SHIN MEM ALEPH, which equals 220 + 112, or the number of The Book Of The Law plus 11 (the number of Magick) squared.

Aha.

Let this be enough for now. Of course there follows stuff how this pertains to The Old Ones and what not, but am I the only one thinking that the way to get to this solution is totally bonkers? At best it shows the beautiful art of qabalah and gematria and notarikon and what not. Take what you need and leave out any logic.

@christibrany, since you seemingly endorse this solution, what is your take on it?

This thread is all very frustrating to me. Chris kindly used my name in vain, in his opening post, as I had drawn his attention to this book. I ordered my copy through Amazon on 3 January and I was supposed to get it when it was available in the UK on 25 January; well time went by and I was supposed to be getting it yesterday, but received an apology email from Amazon instead. I was so pissed off that I clicked on the link to cancel the order, but surprise, it was not working.

First heard of the book on the Kenneth Grant facebook group page with some surprise. It was like a resurrection from the dead, or at least, a long time coming. Made some comment to the effect that co-authorship with Peter Levenda was akin to signing a pact with the Devil, IMO, which did not go down too well with the venerable administrators of the group page, nor with Jeffrey when he saw it. Hence, the start of some confusing email correspondence with Jeffrey whom I knew from previous Order correspondence and dealings back in the 1990s. According to Jeffrey the material in the book went far beyond his articles in the Order newsletter KHABS and the chapter on the K'rla Cell in BTMZ and way beyond conventional occult gematria.

Frustrated, I had a look at available pages of the book on Google books yesterday; Levenda's style of writing was better than expected to be fair; later chapter titles looked tantalising and there was some interesting looking stuff. But many thanks here to Lutz for getting to the heart of the matter: does all of this result in a significant revelation regarding the text of Liber AL?

Well, the solution to AL.II.76 analysed by Lutz is rather convoluted, clunky and a bit of anticlimax. Instead of advanced mathematics, we get an inconsistent mixture of notarikon, stenographia and 'Thelemic mathematics' and the solution is all very deja vu.

But there must be more to it than this, so I still hope to get the bloody book someday.

@satansadvocaat I too had the impression that the book preceding the "solution" must lead to somewhere else (I have to admit I skipped some passages) and thus was very surprised what the solution seemingly was (it's called analysis). The book further goes on how Shin, Mem and Aleph are related to Nuit, Hadit and Ra-Horr-Khuit and to the Fibonacci numbers but to be honest, the foundation of that final analysis is quite akward and such puts it all in not the best light. But maybe I got it all wrong, I am not very knowledable of Typhonian Thelema, but as it crosses Crowley's Thelema and Liber AL, I thought I'll give my humble opinion. I also asked @christibrany (and by proxy of course everyone else who has something to say about it) about his view on the matter.

Sorry for the double post, but since nobody seems to be willing to chime in, I'll go on. Anybody wanting to defend the book is welcome. Okay, a few pages later comes "Liber AL II:76 Decoded":

4 + 6 + 3 + 8 + A + B + K + 2 + 4 + A + L + G + M + O + R + 3 + Y + x + 2 + 4 + 8 + 9 + R + P + (ST) + O + V + A + L

4 + 6 + 3 + 8  + 1 + 2 + 20 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 30 + 3 + 40 + 6 + 100 + 3 + 10 + 60 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 9 + 100 + 80 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 1 + 30 = 555

Okay, let's do it totally different than before and we get another result. And what a nice result! Why not count zeros also this time? Why not lose the 0=2 formula?

In Hebrew gematria, 555 means "obscurity" [...] so that is consistent.

Consistent means here it aligns with "What meaneth this, o prophet? Thou knowest not, nor shalt thou ever know." And the proof?

It was obscure to AC.

There's the proof.

Of course, it's also Necronomicon. (in isopsephy)

Well, than it MUST be right.

That shall be it from my side. I might sound harsher than I intend. Do what thou wilt of course also applies to solving the riddle. But to me it is another perfect example for the sheer "lust of result", the biggest sin (biggest? Well, a big one), isn't it? Changing wildly from gematria to isopsephy to notariquon to Thoth Tarot and back and forth and even totally different inside a few pages will always produce anything you want. And you can always add any other method you like. That is not exactly convincing.

Don't get me wrong, all the stuff about the K'rla Cell and the Mummy Rites and the Fibonacci numbers and the golden ration and the ration between male and female alien abductees is of course quite jolly and has many merits for some people and it would have been an interesting book until then, but to even think that this is the solution, the analysis or the decoding of II:76 is totally bonkers in my opinion. Change my mind.

Well the gist i got out of the book was that,
the ancient old ones
who want to destroy humans and their folly;
and take over their space and bandwidth of conditioned existence;
sent an olive branch of sigils
and a two way communication system
using irrational numbers, Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio
encoded in II:76 was opened up;
in order for humanity to convince them otherwise.

Does that sound about right ?

" I've only had time to skim through the book as yet, but your "view" seems unlikely. "

well that's good to know;

but i still can't get my head around this.

" The Old Ones are attempting to reclaim Their Supremacy once again, or in other words, to take over the Earth They once ruled, and our only means of fighting this can be through a unified controlled attempt to communicate with Them. Such means as the group practice of mantra japa, and the K'rla Cell Rite-which channeled a mathematics pertinent to both the Old Ones and the 93 Current-can be our only hope. "
Rites of The Mummy pg 254

" On the night of August 25th, 1984 e.v., those of us involved in the K'rla Cell experiments gathered in the Temple for another kind of experiment. The Altar, decorated with figurines of the Great Old Ones and surmounted by a goat-skull, sat in the half shadow created by the several candles around the small room. The screened-in area which served as our Temple, allowed the chirping and screeching of sub-Tropical insects to pierce the room, creating an especially eerie effect with its legendary source of the name Al Azif. We began loudly, and slowly:...."
Rites of The Mummy pg 223

" Then a curious thing occurred. After almost an hour of suksma-japa, in the flickering half-light that filled the Temple, a group of strangely alien sigils appeared on the wall in a manifestation that was seen by all who were present ! Without hesitation, we copied them carefully, after which they disappeared. After months of mathemagical results obtained via the Cell, we were wont to read the characters as some kind of "alien equation", and all present agreed that it did, certainly suggest that:

It is, in fact, the equation of the K'rla Cell Herself, as transmitted by the Old Ones...a sort of algebra from Al G'bor ! "
Rites of The Mummy pg 225

Also what is the import of the Qabalah of irrational numbers ?
what does it do ? how does it work ?
and why specifically did the golden ratio need to be encoded in II:76
to divulge the Qabalah of irrational numbers ?

The book was a little confusing to me.

I can't answer your questions, because I do not know.

I posted in the manner I did because your view as you set it out came across to me as a sneer. I took umbrage at that because the author of the book under discussion was for many years a colleague of mine in the "Typhonian O.T.O." and, although we had our differences, I had respect for the work of him and his late wife.

I cannot explain the import of "the Qabalah of irrational numbers". Personally I think that gematria is irrational anyway. Open a copy of Sepher Sephiroth, for instance, and you will find typically that there are several different words and terms that enumerate as the same number. What word or term you alight upon depends on the context in which you are working. If you think that, because it's irrational, therefore it is rubbish, then you can always move on to subjects that appeal to you more. I have a great deal of respect for rationality, and use it a lot in my day to day life, whether stopping at red traffic lights, drinking coffee rather than hemlock, or writing computer programs to analyse the sales data of Starfire Publishing. Rationality is not the only show in town, though.

As for the Golden Ratio, I have no idea whether – or, if so, why – Aiwass encoded it in AL.II.76. Patterns are not always something to be uncovered; sometimes patterns are superimposed by the observer rather than being something intrinsic to the observed.

In summary, if I misunderstood the tenor of your view, then I'm sorry; but that's how it came across to me, hence my crabby response.

I knew somebody, somewhere was up to some cosmic territorial dispute.

I have only heard of "The Old Ones," but I have no idea where they fit in time-wise, historically, or metaphysically. Do you (anyone) have any further Old Ones data?

Question (anyone) who are these Old Ones in which we speak?

Think HP Lovecraft, but (probably?) symbolically.  Ancient, prehuman entities and consciousnesses represented as primordial deities. Kenneth Grant was very fond of the Cthulhu Mythos.  A more traditionally mythological analogy would be beings like the Greek Titans, the Sumerian Tiamat and her brood, or Norse Giants like Ymir.

Kenneth Grant was very fond of the Cthulhu Mythos.  A more traditionally mythological analogy would be beings like the Greek Titans, the Sumerian Tiamat and her brood, or Norse Giants like Ymir.

That gives a "dimension" to The Old Ones. My first thought is that this parallels the general timezone and "historical setting" of the transition period from Atlantis to the present (written) history of civilization. They might have been people ("All these [gods] were men. Their deification[?] is the result of Mythopoeia [sic?]["myth-making]." - AC

The ways and means (including gods) are their attempt to "hang on" when they have been outmoded is well known. Their tendency to "come out of the past to reclaim their territory" is an old story. I am also reminded of Elohim ("the gods"), who were pre-human - they got displaced when YHVH declared himself to be the alpha deity - "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." YHVH even starts off by saying he is "jealous."

Only a short while after I asked my question (of anyone) about The Old Ones, as I was reading just the last twoe paragraphs on one page (before going to sleep), the following popped-up to demonstrate the universality of this concept ...

"I am among the blessed," the leader said with humility. "I am the priest of the serpent spirit Damballah ... My sacred task is to clear the nation of all disbelievers. I must do that or else I must prepare the way for Ogu Bodagris, the great spirit of war. He wishes to reclaim the home that was once his."
- Jeff Rovin. Mission of Honor. (c)2002Jack Ryan Ltd Partnership and S&R Literary Inc.

It is my professional opinion, in present time/space continuum (the moving concept, not the eternal one), that (any) descriptions of "gods," especially when they display human emotions (anger, envy, favoritism, etc), are simply accounts written by normal human vehicles in an attempt to explain things to themselves. Deus est Homo.

Hoever, while Homo is pretending to be Deus, and all these other human-designated, lesser "gods" have been relegated to the past and do not even exist at all, the Homo may encounter some force greater than him-her-self. It has been mentioned as "a guiding intelligence." So I'm not ready for atheism yet, but "these gods" (of any name or description) have become boring. If they have a name and they are different from other gods (in time, space, or temperament), then they are not any "sumpreme" anything. They are just some elements tossed in by Choronzon.
