The heresy? – Remember the Title Page (annotations, in Crowley’s hand) – “This MS which came into my possession in July 1906...”  Take this at face value.  In other words, Crowley’s initial Cairo plan was that of allegedly obtaining the manuscript from an Egyptian Adept, presumably in July 1906 (therefore Crowley is ‘the one who comes after’).  As a pseudo-praeterhuman validation of Crowley’s ‘right’ to own the manuscript (i.e. to be the ‘correct’ one who comes after), he (Crowley) includes a self-validation riddle.  At a (years) later date, Crowley changes his plan.  He erases the Egyptian adept and goes one-on-one with Aiwass (so now becomes ‘the one’).  But what if the riddle only works with the old plan?.  What if the solution says, for example, “666 got this manuscript from 78, at the Boulaq, on 06 July 1906?”  Crowley does what he can to adjust the riddle, but if anyone solves its original intent, then it’s ‘bye-bye Reception...’  I think ‘that’ is the dilemma that’s got Paul all period-of-silencey, which is a real shame because just 19 numbers, 9 letters and a cross may prove pivotal to our understanding of  Crowley.

This would make an excellent Nancy Drew episode. It reads like pure fantasy fiction. It also does not conform to the evidence at hand and is very far fetched.

S.'. H.'. Fra. J. Daniel "Handsome Dan" Gunther, who may in fact claim to be a mere 8=3 (since there is No Such Thing as an 11=0), and has definitely claimed 7=4 in print, is the current Praemonstrator of the (c)OTO's associated "duplex" "A.'. A.'." "lineage".

It has been said in writing that "Handsome Dan" is "the orthodox voice of Thelema",  and, it is coyly hinted, he is possibly the "messiah of the New Aeon", or maybe a new "World Teacher". He is "V.V.V.V.V.", at least according to some.

"Handsome Dan" enjoys all these statuses despite having withdrawn from the Motta A.'. A.'. as a Probationer or perhaps a Neophyte (if one accepts Motta's claim to 2=9, which was not recognized by Germer, his A.'. A.'. superior). Motta said he was "demoted for plotting to murder his hierarchic superior [Motta]; withdrew voluntarily from the A∴A∴" It should be borne in mind that Motta was bat-shit insane, but i imagine he knew who was, and who was not, his student.

According to old fashioned "orthodox voices of Thelema" like, say, Crowley, his withdrawal means he has forfeited all chances for this incarnation:  "Listen, we pray you, with attention: for once only does the Great Order knock at any one door." (Liber Causae sub figura LXI).

As the OP, the OT as to the peculiar-looking "G" in "ALGMOR" has been settled to my satisfaction for ages. The discussion has wandered a good deal; i have been as guilty as any.

I am not sure what could be considered "off topic" at this point. Perhaps best to close this off and force all these peripheral discussions into topics of their own?

93!

The question of the topic (Is that really a "G" in "ALGMOR"?) is answered (Yes, it is really a "G"), so I propose that Richard opens a new thread where we can discuss his "78" theory.

Oh, @ignant666 just wrote the same.

@elitemachinery - This would make an excellent Nancy Drew episode. It reads like pure fantasy fiction. It also does not conform to the evidence at hand and is very far fetched. – It only reads like fantasy when forced against Crowley’s official (and demonstrably bogus) fable.  In all other respects, my heresy makes perfect sense and exposes innumerable jagged edges in Crowley’s fabrication.

@the_real_simon_iff93! The question of the topic (Is that really a "G" in "ALGMOR"?) is answered (Yes, it is really a "G"), so I propose that Richard opens a new thread where we can discuss his "78" theory. Oh, @ignant666 just wrote the same. – That may not be a bad idea.

@wellreadwellbredYes, a hint that reading the BOTL's text in reverse order, is the correct approach to eventually behold what the III:73 Cipher refers to, is a simple implementation... - Have you figured out yet where, if three stele deities straddled Cairo, the lady’s feet and fingers touch, and what Ankhey would hold?

@lashtalJust a couple of posts ago I urged members to get this thread back on topic. We don’t need yet more distractions... Further off-topic posts will be deleted without comment. -  Paul, your patience/tolerance is appreciated.  I sincerely hope that you are not taking personally my abrasive efforts to elicit a solution.  For reasons previously expressed, I, personally and increasingly, believe that the solution (and its inherent revelation) is of major significance to all with an interest in Crowley and will endure to reveal this secret.  So, and with no apology, ask again...

What is the terrifying nature of a solution compelling all who fathom it to silence?  On this point, I restate my post of 27 December - The solution inherently exposes a major conflict (possibly irreconcilable) with Crowley’s published account.  The solution is incidental with respect to its impact on the bigger picture.  I sincerely request that any person with knowledge of the solution please refute my heresy.

😬 Incidentally, and a long-shot... Does your solution utilise the numbers and letters as published?

I would like to know your view of frank ripel and his works

The moderator will probably not answer you. But he will

Heal the Sick, and Raise the Dead
to delete your posts, from this Thread,

because you are continuing to post off-topic. This thread is dedicated to the G in ALGMOR. Ripel is not related to G or ALGMOR. You must start your own thread about Riple if you want to get anywhere. Or just go ask your questions on the Riple thread that Lashtal just posted for you.

The link posted by LAShTAL works, and it leads to a Reipel thread, which I never knew existed. The Link you posted does not work and it leads no where, which is what you complained about.

Please do not continue to post about Riple in this thread.

elitemachinery(@elitemachinery): "This would make an excellent Nancy Drew episode. It reads like pure fantasy fiction." (Source: https://www.lashtal.com/forums/thelema/is-that-really-a-g-in-algmor/paged/4/#post-102492 )

Well, imagine Nancy Drew in a feature film or TV series episode, describing Aleister Crowley by using terms like wise guy (= "a person who makes sarcastic or cheeky remarks to demonstrate their cleverness"). (Source: https://www.lexico.com/definition/wise_guy .), shit talker (=  "... what 99% of people under25 years of age are, especially when around other "shit talkers" who like try try to impress other idiots of their age group, to try to appear "worldly" or "knowledgeable" about something they know absolutely nothing about. Shit talkers are silent around adults, (people over 35) because they realize that people who have lived a while have heard plenty of bullshit talk and arenot impressed by juveniles babbling bullshit. See also: liar, punk." (Source: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=shit%20talker .), and dirty old man.

Well, well, said hypothetical scene is more likely than the following dialogue:

(A horrible Man:) “Where are you going, so meek and holy?” (Nancy Drew:) “I’m going to temple to worship Crowley.” (Freely after The Convert (A Hundred Years Hence) (source: http://lib.oto-usa.org/crowley/poetry/the-convert.html ))

(Shiva: "... women [...] just don't like Crowley and other dirty old men." (Source: 'Gender Balance in this community?' - - -  https://www.lashtal.com/forums/stuff/gender-balance-in-this-community/#post-102434 ))

G is interesting. It's based on that spiral viral thing the stone-age folks used.

?w=640&h=426

It's also the letter of the new-age freeway that runs from Kether to Tiphareth, so it's an important route to ride.

Nancy Drew using using terms like wise guy, shit talker, and dirty old man, to describe Aleister Crowley, can as a matter of fact very well be imagined. Particularly according to the manifestation of her in the currently running American mystery drama television series based on the titular character of a mystery book series that debuted on October 9, 2019, and was renewed for a second season January 2020. She starts out the pilot episode with some interracial nookie nookie, and then she invokes the spirit of a dead person, which leads to channeling.

(Shiva: "... most "channelers" are women." (Source: 'Gender Balance in this community?' - - -  https://www.lashtal.com/forums/stuff/gender-balance-in-this-community/#post-102434  ))

As for the mysterious "G" in this thread, no big surprise if Nancy Drew hits the G-spot during said TV series about her. And no big surprise if Aleister Crowley is mentioned within this TV series.

Actually, the bias is impeccably confirmed. Says so in the Pictures ...

The G can easily be seen in the central "ring" of the spiral.

This letter (Gee) should be the first one in the AlphaBeta. It gives rise to words like God, Genesis, Gene, Genetic, Genealogy, Galaxy, Great, and Grunt.

It's as plain to the eye as the Golly Green giant in the spiral's center ...

There is no mention of masonic G, probably it has nothing to do with it? Four pages of debate for one single letter… It is a kind of letter-mania (I aint yet forgot fill/kill case...). G/C... F/K... I wonder if there will be the third case… soon...

G

Crowley's lettering in the picture appears to reflect the Latin origin of G and not a pictogram of a spiral.

"Is there an option for listening to this ‘audiobook’ format of The Vision and The Voice/Liber 418, with the original synthesizer backing track turned off? That is, can this audiobook be listened to in a way where only the words are audible?"

Dwtw

OT but not worth a new thread. The answer is no, it is not possible to hear the words without the music. Seven Ravens material uses music because I find plain spoken word to be somewhat boring. But that's because I'm a musician. YMMV.

To quote threefold31: "OT but not worth a new thread."

Does anyone know if The Vision and The Voice/Liber 418 is at all available in ‘audiobook’ format, without any background music?

To quote threefold31: "OT but not worth a new thread."

They/it already has several threads available, but sometimes people don't want to perform necrodancy, and sometimes it's just too much to initiate a new thread.

I understand, and so do seven other people. Sometimes I get the impression, however vague, that the free-wheelin' clowns of LAShTAL don't especially hold the most-ancient, and most-holy, arcane org on six continents, in the high esteem to which they/it are/is entitled by divine right, lawful succession, legal verdict(s), lawful possession of copyrights, and duplexity.

Any heretical hysteric who throws verbal stones of obvious fact at the dark tower should be ashamed of themselves, and they should wash their mouths out with soapy water and flush their computer with petrol.

Or (these an out, you see) ... or one can always project love to them/it, while planning which book (now in the pubic domane) of Crowley's they are going to print because it's a good one and there's a dearthage of copies out there in the publick dominion.

How-to-do-it

1. Scan or typeset said rare gem, and convert it to pdf.

1(a). Edit or Comment according to your skill ... or not (optional).

2. Go to Lulu, where you can publish said rare gem ... for free.

---

In order to remain on-topic, I would like to say that previously-discussed G, which apparently AC printed funny, is also the letter found at the heart of the most common Masonic emblem.

I had heard common folk say it represented God, but esoteric rumors said it was Genitor. A Genitor is one's biological father. Then I asked Martin P. Starr, who was once the 5=6 of what is now The One True Order, but he quit and joined the Masons. Since he made it to 33, I figured he'd know. He did.

He sent me a quote from the earliest known Masonic book/text, wherein it said, "The G stands for Geometry."

Well, those early guys were cathedral builders. You know, engineers, stone masons, carpenters, and heavy ox-wagon drivers. Those cathedrals were heavy and tall, and they had to have their Geometry together if they were going to keep the slate roofs from crashing down on the congregation and clergy.

I find it interesting that (in ALGMOR) the G is preceded by AL, which two letters are significant to us cliometricians.

A novel approach to "reverse engineering".  Or perhaps taking coals all the way back to Newcastle?  Did he dish the dirt & say whether he'd managed to come across any new - pssst - secrets?

Yours with a funny handshake and trouser leg all rolled up,

N Joy
