Wait - if the toy works, then, perhaps, instead of RTC telling us what it is, or how it works, he could show us what it can do... a demonstration of its efficacy.

What is the main thing that toys do after you've played with them for a bit?  The bastard things break, don't they - that, or else/and they have an in-built planned obsolescence designed into 'em..

"Wizard of Oz" scene

ole Missouri boy here- "Show Me."

How far can it be from Kansas to Missouri (in metaphorical distance terms)?

@therealrtc :

The accumulated baggage of occult history is utterly redundant (not that it ever had much practical value). ...

Horus offers a new way of ‘powering the engine.’ Crowley went all around the houses in describing this, but never quite got it. Again, he didn’t stand a chance. He did, however, absolutely nail the ‘trick’ without ever realising it. […] Alas, commentators (just like Crowley) grasped the wrong end of the stick (as dictated by an inescapable evolutionary sequence).

[Crowley] got a result but misunderstood what got him there. […]

[Crowley] went all round the houses in describing this [Horus 'powering the engine'] but never quite got it.  Again, he didn't stand a chance. […]

Crowley didn't have a hope in Hell of understanding what he's seen (akin to Jules Verne seeing the blueprint for a space shuttle).  As such, his works reflect the errors. [etc]

If you really know "the score" better than AC did, doesn't that make you the true Prophet of the New Aeon of Horus then (with AC relegated to qualifying as a sort of John the Baptist figure)?  Wouldn't it in fact make you at least his equal as a 9=2 in this new Order of Things if not (whisper it quietly) th'Ipsissimus himself?

Every couple years i like to recycle my best lashtal pun ever (if now a tad dated), and JB has "opened the door" as we say in the law biz.

Are you saying that RTC, having surpassed St. Reuss, and also St. AC, may be the new "Star" of The Lifestyles of the Rich and Ipsissimous?

I apologize to all, and will now get my coat.

Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans, a happy belated Thanksgiving to all Canadians (even "First Nations"/"Red Indian" mal), and general good wishes to all you benighted foreigners who do not even celebrate Thanksgiving.

My turkey was superb; the oyster stuffing, and gravy, were even better. Large amounts of duck fat were involved.

We now, post-dinner, have full-contact Scrabble (from which i am thus far abstaining out of mercy for the others), and sweet wines that foam, and Belgian beers that also foam, going in the Ignant household. "Jazz cigarettes" are in use, and there is '50s R & B on the radio.

For a second there I thought the pun was going to be, "Rtc…...Ipissimus off".

"Red Indian"

Is a dated and racist term. You may apologize if you said this out of ignorance and meant no offense.

Anyone remember Llee Heflin & his book Island Dialogues (Level Press, 1973)? I've selected two quotes from "a critical review by Nathan Bjorge" for this hot topic.

Mr. Heflin hasn't discovered a groundbreaking toy, yet his (Heflin's) revelations somehow resemble the toying with the dissimilar "revelations," at least...

"Heflin's God begins by stating that humans must overcome the duality of gender within their psyches, and become androgenous. So far so good, though Heflin sees this as not merely a spiritual state or metaphor. Now comes the tricky bit: to achieve this everyone who is not already in a male body must reincarnate into one and become a homosexual. Why, we might just perhaps ask? Because the female body doesn't have a Phallus, and it essential that the enlightened androgene both be able to sexually penetrate and be penetrated."

"It is quite clear that Heflin acknowledges no outside authority or exterior standard in his religious practice. As a result, his illumination is of dubious value to anyone other than himself. It is a great paradox of philosophy that the exterior standard of a religious system or structure of initiation is essential, on some level, to the coherence and success of an individual's spiritual practice."

Toy
Noun: 1. An artifact designed to be played with. 2. A device regarded as providing amusement. &c. Verb: 1. Manipulate manually or in one's mind or imagination. &c.

(I suppose some of you have suspected the toy could be a dildo. I apologize if I've been wrong.)

Dildo
Noun: 1. Device A that penis to for stimulation substitutes provide an vibrating vaginal erect.

(OK, I've made a cut-up out of the definition from the dictionary, using the Cut-up Machine. Rock on.)

@lashtal - My thanks for posting News of the release – Appreciated!  I look forward to any considered thoughts you may deem fit to air.

In response to the prevailing ambience of reflex nudging and giggling, I can do no better than echo the words of a vastly experienced, knowledgeable, and hugely-respected former member of this platform, Walter Five:

I have been a correspondent with Mr. Richard Cole since his days doing the Black Flag/Naughty Nun data CDs almost two decades ago. He sent me a corrected proof of this book a month ago, it's one of the most lucid things he's written. Not only is he trying to get a view of the bigger picture, he's trying to show it to us as well.(Facebook post)

I’ll say again... I am attempting to bring Crowley into the 21st century, and New Aeon of Horus, by illustrating his small though pivotal role, in an almost unimaginably immense evolutionary engine - A process that is (demonstrably) changing all aspects of life on this planet.  I am also attempting to describe a simple technique facilitating access to this engine.  ‘It’ is there, to be seen, and utilised... but  only if we stop pinging snot-balls around with the demon Crowley’s ghost, and open our eyes to his unique insight.

@wellreadwellbredImagine someone in a powerful political position with strong end-time beliefs, for some reason ending up being stuck to a device, inducing or causing 'forbidden' feelings or thoughts, until said device's battery runs out. - You’re really bonding with that lovely New Aeon stuff!  As mentioned, the Horus Toy opens the door to a nexus at which all minds meet.  Just like the Internet, you can get at anything and anything can get at you.  Back in the 1980s, various agencies suddenly scrapped numerous, multi-billion £££ mind-control programs.  Based on what I see and hear, I suspect these abruptly ceased not because (as erroneously touted) they failed.  Rather, they found what they were looking for, and that is very bad news for the vast majority.

The real powerbrokers of this planet have, for decades, attempted to hack this channel and exploit its limitless potential.  MKUltra is just one instance of a multi-billion Pound industry groping towards the first ‘weapon’ of Horus – Mind control.  As previously noted, the Internet is a physical reflection of innate human interconnectivity.  The battle currently raging across the World Wide Web is a shadow of the conflict ongoing inside our minds.  World War III has already begun.  Collateral damage not shot with crude bullets, but implanted with a seed idea that the host will embrace, nurture and protect with his or her life.  Never will infected individuals realise the true nature of the cuckoo, the parasite, they have not only reared, but have also become.

How close are these incarnate Hidden Masters to covertly launching a ‘mind-bomb’ capable of embedding a seed thought so deeply in a target as for that person to believe the notion, however discordant, is of their own making – The host develops an irresistible impulse to buy a new car, vote Conservative, promulgate a new ideology, or commit mass murder.”
(The Inauguration of Aleister Crowley’s New Aeon of Thelema)

@serpent252 -“...the tricky bit: to achieve this everyone who is not already in a male body must reincarnate into one and become a homosexual.– Heflin was on the right track.  Just like Crowley, he couldn’t quite see that ’the game’ hadn’t just shuffled its team, it had introduced new players.  Not long ago, ‘God’ muted the phallocentric (Kether >>> Chokmah)Osiris’ string we’ve vibrated on for 10,000 years, and twanged the gender-neutral (Kether >>> TIphareth)Horus’ string.  Replace ‘reincarnating’ with ‘evolving’ and you’re not far from reality.  The mushrooming cult of gender-fluidity is the tip, of the tip, of a huge iceberg.  Give evolution a century or so and maybe then everybody will have a much clearer picture of what Crowley, Heflin and myself were shooting at.

@jamiejbarter“... doesn't that make you the true Prophet of the New Aeon of Horus [...] a 9=2 in this new Order [...] th'Ipsissimus himself? – You better believe it, baby, and the Word of the New Aeon is “Colesplaining!”   😉

Ignant, it's still a racist and offensive term to Indigenous people regardless of anything else.

Yet, you seem to be able to fabricate an outrage for a Nazi swastika only you perceive yet I've posted nothing in all the years I've been here that would indicate Nazi leaning. Yet, here you are, ingnant, openly and unapologetically using a racist slur.

Perhaps, racism is not found in a symbol but in the actions of people?

It seems that you have personal issues and maybe an obsessive-compulsive disorder possibly caused by your drug and meth use that is causing you to act out with this repetitive behavior behavior across multiple threads. While allowances for your difficulties and condition are easy to make it does pull away from the topic of those threads you bring your problems into.

OT:

Nice to see the official announcement for the RTC's book.

Perhaps, mal, you might be right were i applying the term to an actual Indian/Native American/First Nations person, but since i am using it to mock your lame "cultural appropriation" in claiming it's ok for you, as a white guy, to use a swastika because you are "Indigenous, registered as such, participate in the culture and endured the ordeals in" Canada, not so much.

You are a disruptive troll, and it is rather rich for you go posting your diagnoses of me (based, i'm sure, on extensive professional training) as "pull[ing] away from the topic."

I would buy it today if there was a download version...I live in Asia...shipping books halfway around the world is not practical for me...perhaps I will pick one up next time I return to the states...so i will wait for now. I appreciate a good physical book, but i have gone mostly paperless except for a shelf of Crowley books.

From Richard Cole's Inauguration review link;

A particularly brilliant section comprises Cole’s discussion of the Internet as a “physical reflection of Homo sapiens’ potential for organic interconnectivity.” Cole reveals the internet-fueled melt-down of the old Aeon’s most revered social and political institutions as a harbinger of a to-be-hoped-for spiritualized realization. He shines when he describes conflicts waged across the internet as, quite literally, external reflections of real-but-invisible battles fought within our collective psyche. Cole “gets” it.

I'm not as impressed as this guy seeing as Prof Leary described this "as within so without" process years ago e.g. in this interview here;

https://www.offiziere.ch/trust-us/habi2/130_timothy_leary.html

where he said "     We had to have a personal-computer movement to help us understand the brain. You see, we can only understand our inner workings in terms of the external, mechanical or technological models that we build. We never understood the circulation of the blood until we had hydraulic systems moving water around. We didn't understand metabolism until we had mastered thermodynamic, with the steam engine and understood how coal and oil produce power and energy. Only then could we figure out how carbohydrates and proteins works. Coming from an industrial, mechanical culture, how could we possibly understand the brain? Until recently we thought the brain was a machine like a big telephone system. This is a completely inadequate metaphor. The psychedelic drug movement of the Sixties and the personal-computer movement of the Eighties are inner and outer reflections of each other. You simply cannot understand psychedelic drugs, which activate the brain, unless you understand something about computers. It is no accident that many of the people in the computer movement had experimented with LSD."

Anyway back to the 'Inauguration'  review and it looks like I finally get a definition of the elusive 'Horus toy';

By contrast, the sections on New-Aeonic gender and sex magick strike me as slightly off the mark, but never completely off target. For instance, Cole quotes from the script of The Wolf of Wall Street where one male character strenuously advises another male to “jerk off” at least twice a day to balance the mental work and “keep the rhythm below the belt.” Cole writes, “This brief and jocular exchange includes ALL the theory and practice anyone will ever need to know about the mysteries of old and New Aeon Magick – simple as that!” Male-bodied individuals inclined to realize their True Will should pause before taking these sex-magick instructions literally.

There you have it.   There's more on the big revelation about the bisexual/pan sexual Genesis Orridge types of  the New Aeon;

To take another example where I can personally weigh in, Cole describes how the LGBTQ+ communities have expanded the binary pink / blue gender / sexuality system into a rainbow of possibilities and actualities. “The children of [the new Aeon] display all colours, reflecting their infinite diversity and absolutely right to express it.” The diversity isn’t new, but the “overt individuality” and insistence on our right to express ourselves is new. So far, beautiful. But since this section occurs just before Cole’s apparent claim that “jerking off” a lot is all you need to know about sex magick (for whom?), I wish he would have clarified where he was going with this.

Just sounds like an agenda basically.  ….  I'm underwhelmed but I'm not in the demographic for this sort of product.

Sorry for double post but more from Leary on bio evolution and it's relation to electronic media in this interview;

https://www.feminist.com/resources/artspeech/interviews/tim.html

Here's an excerpt;

MS: Where do you think the human race is as far as its evolution and potential in understanding the nature of its own consciousness?

TL:  For about 25,000 years our means of communication was fire; that is, actual fire itself and its ashes and then the metal and then it’s candles, even the use of engines to create books – steam engines and all that. In the last seventy years a new form of communication has developed called electricity. Electricity has given us radio, it’s given us telephone, it has given us the television. It’s given us an enormous amount of cable access. It has now finally given us digitized appliances so that we can actually change what’s on our screen so we can communicate not in written words, not in rag and glue pages, but we communicate in the language of the galaxy, which is electronics, electric. And this is going to create within ten years – it’s already happening – a new global village. And the young kids that are growing up now using Nintendo, using Macs, using the new editing equipment, they are a different species than those of us who grew up using reading and writing and radio. So I’m extremely, extremely hopeful to see there’s this new generation that is learning a new language, they’re a new breed.

Not sure that my “review” of Cole's latest will offer any more enlightenment than the reviews already shared. The most problematic aspect of this work, in context of this particular discussion, is Cole's claim to have discovered a technique and device (derisively referred to as “The Toy”) which succeeds where Crowley's sex-magick sputters at best and often nose dives. Of course, this claim is going to be met with Ignant's “Show Me” retort. Instead Cole suggests that all shall be revealed in due time...and that due time is two more books from now.

Now it would seem to make sense at this point to accuse Cole of dangling a carrot. I could be wrong but don't think this is the case. Here's why:

Cole cuts to the quick with letting his readership know that this is the first of three books which will comprise something of a Trilogy. Perhaps down the line, they will be bound as a single volume. He seems to be serializing ala Crowley's Magick and Theory format. This first volume is the Theoretical.

Cole's metaphysics are, for myself, anyhow, quite interesting and suggestive. Although his humor and satire are present, he is not really concerned with debunking “Old Fakey” in this booklet. In fact, he seems to be reporting as one who has been drawn into the same Vortex which opened for Crowley. Cole is chopping his way further into the jungle. The Aeonics of the Beast are being developed from a vantage point Crowley foresaw but would never live in.

I find it curious that Cole expressed trepidation in sharing this Secret as it may cause great mischief and carnage. This is fair enough and could justify his “coyness.” We could say he is writing for those with “eyes to see” but his booklet concludes with a statement that “withholding this information hinders the future evolution of the world.” I suspect Cole has determined the appropriate time and place when he wishes to release his concluding volume. He has chosen the most auspicious moment to open the floodgate.

This is my impression. Richard can clearly speak for himself.

The claim I just quoted from the end of the book reminds me of Crowley's words regarding contact with Praeterhuman Intelligences and the progress of humanity depending on this. When Richard speaks of his device, I am reminded of Lovecraft's character, Tillinghast, in his classic tale, From Beyond. I related these two figures in my essay for Starfire's Servants of the Star and Snake. Tillinghast seeks to utilize his contact with the “paranormal” for spiteful and vindictive purposes. Crowley sees this same contact as critical for our life wave. Richard seems to acknowledge the risk and is willing to brave the danger. 2020 is the year.

So, if one wants a clear description of the “Toy” with the Ultra-Power, it's not in this book. At least, it's not clapped out for the reader. Richard DOES describe an “occult physics” from which might be deduced the dynamics such a device, technique or movement would require.

I do think Richard has some very valid and interesting observations in this book esp. regarding gender-bending in its many varieties in the New Aeon. The Internet is the other big event he targets. He makes a case for WWW (World Wide Web)=VVV=666=The Solar Singularity, although not necessarily in those terms. In essence, he gets that our human experiences (individual as they may be) are extensions from a singularity. The instantaneous nature of internet communication, information flow etc along with humans identifying as something “other” than the biological card dealt to them, expresses what Crowley foresaw when he wrote his Introduction to Liber AL:

“Each one of us has thus an universe of his own, but it is the same universe for each one as soon as it includes all possible experience. This implies the extension of consciousness to include all other consciousness.”

The Source of all Consciousness is that which gives Reality to ANY Consciousness. This is a mysticism with very practical implications. To my mind, this is what Richard is driving at with his booklet. It is what has concerned much of my own esoteric exploration so I personally found this be a very enjoyable work. I will definitely look forward to what follows.

Having now read the review, RTC's "Horus Toy" is a physical device- "a machine he created that can generate synchronicity".  He will publish "descriptions and schematics of said machine in forthcoming volumes".

Now that it is confirmed that the "Toy" is a physical device that can be built from schematics, ready to switch from "Show Me!" to calling bullshit on this.

RTC may well respond with all sorts of invective, but one response we won't get from him is any evidence that this device exists or works. Because of course it doesn't.

I felt drawn to the same conclusion @ignant666 has reached regarding the toy when I read the Cornelius review, though I will allow myself to be a little more open minded and hope it's a "machine" in the same sense that the vault of the adepti is a "machine". Even if this vaunted toy is comparable to something Bardon or one of his Czech disciples might whip up, I will not consider my following this thread to have been a complete waste.

Dr. Reich, can you hear us?

If our feelings are truthful and this machine is what Ignant diplomatically calls 'bullshit' then I would assume any effects produced are not originated by the machine, but by the builder who in building the machine with real intent simply hypnotizes himself into reading meaning into more coincidences than he normally would. The toy thereafter must be considered simply the lowest form of talisman, 'generating synchronicity' by the same mechanic that your lucky fishing rod catches you more fish.

Quite possibly, Michael.

Though we should bear in mind that self-delusion is the only thing more common than unfounded hype in occult/esoteric circles.

RTC gives off a distinct air of "getting high off his own supply" as opposed to being a snake-oil salesman/con-man- he appears to have convinced himself of what he is saying, as opposed to cynically saying things he knows aren't true.

His history of hype followed by... nothing make me doubt that very much of anything tangible will ever come of all this.

I didn't see anything about a physical machine.   What? A dream machine?

I wonder how many folk here are familiar with Leary's post LSD- phase books about bio evolution.

This ideas that AC held his antennae out to a big wave and produced AL but he is now sort of obsolete because technology was so comparatively primitive then and we need a newer interpretation of the after-effects of that wave....  I'm open to that.    It's not necessarily the work of the Black Lodge....is it?

david: See the review by the Corneliuses, or the relevant quotes i cite above. If it is a "machine" with "schematics", it is a physical device that produces "Change in conformity with Will", with some side effects of gender-fluidity. It is some  sort of orgone cannon, or more likely an orgone cellphone in these digital times

I think RTC is a Brit, so his books won't be burned at the Gansevoort Street Incinerator in NYC (which no longer exists anymore anyway) where they burned Reich's books for quackery.

All this delusional and messianic talk, coupled with the "gender transformation= power" formulation, brings to mind our old pal Genesis P, and also John Lily in his dotage. In each of those cases, the cause of these delusions was injection of copious amounts of ketamine. I wonder what RTC's views on ketamine are?

Also, if RTC is correct that to “'jerk off' at least twice a day" is "ALL the theory and practice anyone will ever need to know about the mysteries of old and New Aeon Magick – simple as that!", why aren't all 14 year old boys Epopts, Lamas, and Mahatmas?

One also has to wonder why one needs the "Horus Toy" if this is so, unless it is some sort of Magickal Masturbation Orgone Cannon to facilitate all this "jerking off".

Freely after "THE CHEF." (A commercial for Northman Lengi (watches). Directed and shot by JN Filmproduktion ( http://jnfilmproduktion.se/en/home/ ): https://vimeo.com/373780072 :

As a chef my life circles around quality and precision. Every second, every single step matters. It's a passion, but It certainly gets to intense sometimes. To perform, I need my time. Everybody has their own way. For me, it's all about simplicity. There's something about the time transcending Horus Toy, how it's always there, feeding the world. With THAT I feel alive without having to perform. A more balanced me, recharged and ready to give one 100%. This is my definition of quality time.

"But Dr. Regardie was a Reichian therapist!" I hear echo through the alleys.

Not to get carried away, but I am made to recall a machine (in the basest sense) built in 1991 by Karl Hans Welz called an "Orgone Generator". No mere accumulator mind you. I think the original website may have been taken down recently (maybe the internet archive has a snapshot on the wayback machine) but I remember reading, in the most garish coloring you can imagine, that just switching on the generator would begin a cascade of resonances and synchronizations, making the owner healthier and better at online gambling, et al.

I've always wanted to get my hands on one and take it apart, so I could see what kind of radiation was actually belting the people who bought the things. I wonder if RTC's toy will be FDA approved?

Here's a very funny review for one such generator. My favorite part is when the woman says, "I thought it was the adderall kicking in, but it's the generator!"

One must wonder whether the New Aeonic Revelation of RTC includes "Who calls us 'Jerk-Offs' will do no wrong ... "

I hold no brief for Richard Cole, but the fact that something looks wacky to you is hardly game, set and match. Lots of things seem pretty wacky - how hard it is for me to type that word without rabbit's ears, since it's become such a shallow, go-to term of abuse. I daresay that many things would strike you as "wacky" - quantum theory, advaita, perhaps even intuition. A few hundred years ago, the idea that we could flick a switch and produce light would have seemed "wacky" in the extreme.

That's not to say that I think there's anything to Richard Cole's latest lucubration - perhaps; perhaps not. I just dislike it (almost as much as I dislike GIFs) when something is slagged off as "wacky", that's all.

Assumptions here are being made from limited information. Richard's booklet is quite good. It's most problematic aspect is announcing “the machine” and then stating that it won't be revealed until later on. This, naturally, leads to mutterings of there being no machine in the first place. I suggested, in my “review,” what his Modus Operandi might be.

The whole “jerk off” thing alludes to a section of his book where he references a dialogue in The Wolf of Wall Street. It should be pointed out that this passage is compared with other “case studies” which are very non-sexual (such as the Mother who momentarily gains super strength to lift a car off of her child (but who, under any other circumstance, could never do such a thing).

I am simply saying that I do not think Richard is repeating Crowley's claims or venturing into the Chaos Magic method of “wish, whack, wipe.” He is proposing something “new” which extends from these faltering efforts. He describes the metaphysics via the Tree of Life and seems to be reverse engineering the creative process therein described.

Dare away.  You're talking to an occultist here.

What are you insinuating?  I think some bourgeoise individualist is trying to make a cheap buck out of the good prophet of Thelema?

Cole doesn't seem to be out to “make a buck.” He eventually gives his work away. You'll soon be able to get your copy free of charge, I would wager. I don't see him as riding on Crowley's coat tails as much as wrestling with the Legacy of the Beast and challenging the Dogma (and yes, Crowley established this while decrying it).

Do we get the trilogy for free?  Lashtal posters and lurkers are a small part of the demographic yes….

https://www.directletterboxmarketing.co.uk/why-free-samples-should-be-part-of-your-marketing-strategy/   ….as follows;

#1 Introducing New Products
Introduction of new products is the most common use of samples as marketing strategy.

#2 Generates Additional Sales
Giving someone a free sample of an item can generate not just interest in the product, but greater interest in your shop in general. This can encourage a potential client to spend money on products other than just the sampled item.
#3 Positive Brand Association
People love to get something for free, no strings attached. It makes them pleased and brightens their day. By doing this, you can create a positive association with your brand. Customers remember how happy they felt and think highly of you.
#4 Creates a Buying Habit
By offering something free, individuals are more likely to give your business a try. And once they have been, assuming the experience was positive, they are more likely to come back
#5 Customer Feedback
By providing product samples, you are also welcoming customer feedback regarding the product. When consumers test a new product, they often make mental notes about what they like or dislike about the product and, quite frequently, they compare the product with a competitor’s product. This serves as an opportunity to learn more about your target market, and shows how you can improve a product so it exceeds consumer expectations and gives you a competitive edge.
In summary, remember that a free product sample is like a preview to the main show. When you target your product well it could well get you traffic of customers you never could have reached otherwise.

Besides.....to come onto a forum and speak about 'a toy' that is the crux of the matter of his work but to susequently avoid clarification when pressed that smacks of capitalistic knavery does it not?.  Don't you ever get video ads (or the like) on your social media that "lead you on" and just as the secret to e.g. 'perfecting your golf swing' or whatever is about to be given away the video stops and you are directed to a site demanding monthly payments or info about some other related product?

If we get a direct and clear explanation of this 'toy' alluded to  here and now I will change my mind.  If not then see above.

This alliterative description of the Chaos Magic method gave me a good laugh; thank you kidneyhawk.

And obviously we may be being unfair to RTC here, but as you say that is a risk one assumes when one has a habit of issuing books with great hype, and leaving out the hyped part from the book, and not getting around to publishing the evidence that would prove your last book was true, for [checks watch] three years so far.

[Bold added by me, to the quoted text:]

kidneyhawk: "Assumptions here are being made from limited information. Richard's booklet is quite good. It's most problematic aspect is announcing “the machine” and then stating that it won't be revealed until later on."

The concept of a machine for happiness, is ridiculed in LRH's book Scientology: A New Slant on Life (first published 1965, and containing the introductory statement "“The human mind is capable of resolving the problem of the human mind.” - L.R.H."), in the first chapter titled IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE HAPPY?:

"... people seek happiness in various ways. They seek it hectically, as though it’s some sort of mechanism that exists. It's made up. Maybe it’s a little machine, maybe it’s parked in the cupboard, maybe happiness is down at the next corner, or maybe it’s someplace else. They’re looking for something, but the odd part of it is, the only time they ever find something is when they put it there first. Now, this doesn’t sound very plausible, but it’s quite true. Those people who have become unhappy about life are unhappy about life solely and completely because life has ceased to be made by them. Here we have the single difference in a human being. We have here a human being who is unhappy, miserable, and isn’t getting along in life, who is sick, who doesn’t see brightness. Life is handling, running, changing, making him.

And here you have somebody who is happy, who is cheerful, who is strong, who finds that most things are pleasurable; and what do we discover in this person? We find out that he is making life, and there is actually a single difference: are you making life or is life making you?

This is illustrated from 5:33 in the following film from LRH's Church, with his own voice as voiceover: "L. RON HUBBARD LIBRARY PRESENTS Is It Possible to Be Happy? Written and spoken by L. Ron Hubbard" - - - https://www.scientology.tv/series/l-ron-hubbard-library-presents/is-it-possible-to-be-happy.html

dom: AC & LRH are often associated with each other as 2 disreputable individuals. And the latter did mention AC with admiration, and had some dealings with one of AC's underlings in the US. But their teachings differ in that the mind is the enemy of liberation or enlightenment according to AC, versus LRH who stated that “The human mind is capable of resolving the problem of the human mind.”

My main point with the LRH-quotes in my preceding post in this thread, is the fact - relevant to this thread - that LRH ridicules the concept of a machine for happiness. (This holding up to ridicule of a machine for happiness, was in the larger context of the US, preceded by the official and public rejection of one Dr. Wilhelm Reich's (1897-1957) orgone accumulator (celebrated by Bohemians as a liberation machine).)

Really?   By whom?   I've never seen Hubbard mentioned in any AC bios.   I think you're a fan of Hubbard and you're projecting.   Hey, why not?

The relevant chapter from 'Bare Faced Messiah':

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Library/Shelf/miller/bfm07.htm

"Germer naturally informed Crowley, who replied by cable on 22 May: 'Suspect Ron playing confidence trick. Jack evidently weak fool. Obvious victim prowling swindlers.' In a letter seven days later, Crowley wrote, 'It seems to me on the information of our brethren in California that Parsons has got an illumination in which he has lost all his personal independence. From our brother's account he has given away both his girl and his money. Apparently it is the ordinary confidence trick.'"

If AC knew LRH well enough to call him 'Ron', I would say there are fewer than six degrees of separation 'tween the two. LRH's finding inspiration in Crowley is found elsewhere in the biography.

But AC was familiar with a lot of people (probably on first name terms)  that I wouldn't compare him with.

LRH's finding inspiration in Crowley is found elsewhere in the biography.

Yes LRH took a lot of his ideas from AC and so what?  I wouldn't really compare them.  Like I said  I've never seen Hubbard mentioned in any AC bios.

This evening, whilst enthusiastically energised with the spirit of memoriam, seasonality, and general New Aeon-i-ness, I played with my Horus Toy... and manifested on this very thread a praeterhuman entity - Perhaps, even, the Ghost of Crowley past.

As proof conclusive of this ethereal visitation, I include a snapshot of the noteworthy event. 😏

He didn't know Hubbard at all. He used the name "Ron" simply because that is how Parsons used to refer to Hubbard in his letters to Crowley.

AC didn't know Hubbard who was a scoundrel and a thief. While some AC bios do not mention Hubbard, some do. Just off the top of my head:

A Magick Life - Martin Booth. pg 477

Perdurabo - Richard Kaczynski. pg 537

Aleister Crowley - Gary Lachman. pg 305

The Biography - Tobias Churton. pg 414

AC in America - Tobias Churton. pg 655

Secret Agent 666 - Richard Spence. pg 261

Do What Thou Wilt - Lawrence Sutin. pg 412

The Great Beast - John Symonds.  pg 392

King of the Shadow Realm - John Symonds. pg 562

AC and Western Esotericism - Hugh B. Urban.  pg 335

I'm sure there are more...

. The mighty arm of said Black Lodge, the Establishment, moved quickly (for a gov) and made LSD illegal in '66 or '67, and they had the mental-physical revolution under control by 1972. They propped up the dead corpse of Osiris and set him on the Seat in the East. Horus was busy fighting Set, so he wasn't in the photo they took and posted on all the walls of the gov agencies and embassies.

Today we're not quite yet at the fulcrum, the tipping point, of the transition. Prepare and watch for it in your neighborhood in the (relatively) near future.

Shiva what do you mean by 'Horus was busy fighting Set'?   Set the Dark God of chaos yet who assists Horus in the Sun-ship as they both fight the evil Apep snake of chaos.

See the legend of Horus and Set. What do you think AL, ch III is about?

Yes, Set also stood at the prow of the Solar Barque, calmly slitting the throat of Apep, the evil serpent, as he tried to devour the Solar Egg (Ra).

We have been told to not confuse the planes. We also must not confuse the legends. In the beginning, Set was a good guy, slaying serpents and defending Ra. Later on, he decided to murder his nephew, which he found hard to do since Thoth was helping Horus in his corner.

It's hard to stay seated on your Seat in the East, hen somebody's causing chaos and storms in your kingdom.

Yes, Set, Lord of Chaos and Storms. Apep, snake of Chaos? I don't think so. Snake of Death is more like it. Swallow the Sun, everything in our system gets cold enough to stop evolution.

Alternative concept:
Horus = conscious mind.
Set = unconscious mind.

These two (conscious/unconscious) are obviously at war in everyone. That's why they step onto the Path wherein these opposites settle their differences ... resulting in the next phase (known loosely as The Aeon of Maat) ... coming soon to a planet near you (if you can only latch on to that immortality mentioned over in another thread now showing next door.

Yes I know the myth.  I meant in real world terms at that time and I guess you mean that Nixon and the old guard who didn't understand neurosomatic rapture or neuroelectric happenings were basically 'Set' putting the blocks on evolution.   Whether that matches up with Set who was formerly a good guy or not I don't know.

Set is the unconscious and Horus the conscious.  I'm going to have to go away and think on that one.
