Studying Thelema is a lifetime endeavour, but this six-week course gives participants a theoretical and practical grounding; with this under their belt, people can either go further, or work alone with an appreciation of one of the major esoteric currents of Western magic. All will be able to follow a daily routine of study and ritual as devised by Aleister Crowley himself in “Liber Aleph.” The course is well-structured and each session offers a satisfying mix of lecture and practice.

Attendees will be given a ritual robe, properly consacrated, to wear during the practical exercises planned in the latter weeks. Handouts and slides will be provided each week, along with audio recordings of the various visualisation and pathworkings presented at each session.

Participants from all magical and scholarly backgrounds are warmly welcome. No prior experience required.

Time: Arrive 6.50 for 7 pm start. Each class runs to 9.10 pm
Price: £180, includes robe and handouts
Tickets are below. Deposit £95, balance £85 will be due on first night.

Somewhere it is written that the Law is for All, or something…

IIIxxxix ; and to each man and woman that thou meetest, were it but to dine or drink at them, it is the Law to give.

That sounds like a task that could be done very nicely with some leeway. Interpreting the Law as suggesting a Thelema Dinner Theater, and not only a dinner date. In a group setting, men and women attend a seasonal meal with appropriate selections of music and performance from the Rites of Eleusis. The Book of the Law is presented in it’s three parts. Handcrafted parchment copies are given to participants to follow along then burn there on the spot or at their discretion. Done artfully and adding creative local touches could be a great introduction to Thelema and even something some may want to revisit. A financial charge isn’t prohibited.

This Thelema Without Tears course doesn’t seem that far outside this line of thinking. Yet, it is a specified course of study and training not only an introduction to The Book of the Law or Thelema.
What is the general content of devised daily routine from Liber Aleph? Was it originally specific to Achad?

The course offering sounds detailed and useful and the fee is reasonable. Unfortunately most income from retail businesses goes to the landlord. This sounds informative and a fun way to make some new friends and learn or get some new perspective or understanding.

Learning from books is possible but without a mentor it is my belief that much is lost.

I would say you have nailed exactly the ideas behind putting together this course.

In the past 2 years I ran many one-nighters, and it became clear to me that there exists a group of sincere prospective aspirants that want to go further than just reading a book, but do not feel confident yet to go knock on the Orders’ doors.

Since I believe in the concept of promulgation, this is my little experience with it.
