It got me. My magnum opus post registers as having posted, but there is no post in sight. Attempts to re-post, even with a little change in text, result in “You already said that, stupid!”

Note: I felt necessary edits were required (2). There is a causal link between editing and disappearing. I shall found a new religion based on this. It will involve Satan as the programmer and myself as the dunce.

The Word of the Equinox is Duncicity. Can you spell that?

No edits = No satanic kidnapping of posts is a part of the Law.

“The White Brotherhood is the faithful ground-based steward working with the Essenes of Kosmon to serve The Logos across infinity by manifesting the Holy Word in the lowest theatre of human consciousness.”

“Books such as … The Book of Thoth, in which The Master Therion, through The Tarot, points to the universality of the conclusion of Earth’s play.”

    – Says so in Boarding Pass 11.8 to the Kingdom of Heaven.

    3rd attempt –

We do a lot of quoting from time to time around here. But that’s just quoting. The fun really starts when people drop the scripture-dropping and say what they have experienced. When two or more experience-providers differ in their interpretation, the Octagon is opened for UFC (Ultimate Format Confrontation.

“The Book says, Do What thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. What else do you want?”
Spoken aloud directly to me by Pierre Levesque, aka Mr. White, The Point, author of twelve Boarding Passes.
    Some of them are Christian-oriented.

“In all cases of danger and difficulty, in whom do you place your trust?”
-First degree ceremony in Saladin’s tent.
Any answer other than “In myself” is subject to immediate correction.

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like…they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Shiva, This is what the Bible says. Which list do you prefer? What kind of person do you truly want to be? “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Barbara: Amado left me alone to seek out my own way. He didn’t “teach” me anything. The people I quote aren’t any more indicative of the occult or spiritual horizon … than Aleister is anymore.

In all the time I knew Amado he never told me what to think. The sweep was so broad and deep, I am now left now on the edge of a precipice twining a gossamer thread. A book is a book. Sometimes divinely inspired. A tombstone in time. Having said this no one wants to understate the impact of the bible. But messages are always open to informed HERME-neutic exegesis.

There were the ancient Venuses, the Priapuses, Jesus the Shepherd, Crowley the Beast, Amado the Druid … In other corners there are other constellations, other contexts.

The Crowleys are dead. If anyone is reborn they won’t be what they were all over again. In an age of everybody wanting to be contrary, what would a new messenger look like? An underpriveleged white, middle aged refugee? Long live seekers in their unending quest. No one ever knows anything absolutely. Seeing everyone’s quoting stuff:

Martin Rees: It will not be humans who watch the sun’s demise, six billion years from now. Any creatures that then exist will be as different from us as we are from bacteria or amoebae.

Nikolai Berdyaev: The creation of the world is not only a process which moves from God to humanity. God demands newness from humanity; God awaits the works of human freedom.

Henry Pearce: Thank you for your kindly worded message. The Bible has meant so much to me over the years, I cannot help but reverence it and look to it for guidance and wisdom. As a young (23 yrs) seeker, I once asked a Christian why, out of all of the books in the world that purport to provide a path to “enlightenment” why did he pick the Bible? He said that he felt that it presented an accurate view of the world: that we are all depraved and need a savior. Well, I wasn’t ready to hear that and went off to Mike’s commune. A year and a half later, I realized he was right: that we were all depraved, and most importantly, I was depraved. You can read the results of that in my testimony on page 3 of this thread.

The end result is that I have spent the last 40 years as a student of the Bible. It has been a light for my path, and I cannot imagine being without it. It is not a dead book to me, but a living thing that I cherish. I did not want to be a Christian, but God drew me with His love until I said Yes. I have never regretted my decision.

Hey you’re describing most of my last year’s Saturday nights…. well not 100% accurate but near enough.

I knew this thread was going to get even nuttier.

I was amazed that some of you took the bait when asked about “your beliefs”.

I don’t think anyone here was so naive as to think that when (a certain sort of) Christian asks others about “belief” that it is anything but an overture to efforts at evangelism.

Since Thelemites per se have no “beliefs”, and balance skepticism and “certainty not faith”, i thought it polite to indulge our visitor.

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21.

So does a Thelemite hold the belief that they have no beliefs then? 😉

bg: “… they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Well, according to the daylee news, our entire civilization has lost its inheritance.

bg: What kind of person do you truly want to be?

I already am what I am. I don’t want (desire) to be anything.

“Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

My goodness, what a high-pressure salesperson. You have chosen to be a Bible-thumping quoter. You have entered the Octagon. Your endurance will now be measured. I hear the clock ticking.

d: I was amazed that some of you took the bait when asked about “your beliefs”.

Bait? No, screw the bait. I like to swallow the hook and sinker … while chopping the line.

Ig: I don’t think anyone here was so naive as to think that when (a certain sort of) Christian asks others about “belief” that it is anything but an overture to efforts at evangelism.

Naivety? Isn’t that another one of those deadly sins, in addition to those already quoted and posted?

hp: So does a Thelemite hold the belief that they have no beliefs then?

No, we’re all stuck with certain beliefs, which are often illusionary. It depends on one’s grade. Those referring to any of us as Thelemites are advised to look close into the Word. The Man of Earth is filled with beliefs. The Lover starts picking and choosing. The Hermit has no beliefs … he or she also has no Mind, so how can they perceive believing and choosing amongst the illusions?

You are right that I did have evangelism on my mind, but I had something more as well. I had grown fond of you all during our discourse, and I truly wanted to know what makes you tick. I also was having fun with the exchanges and didn’t want them to end just because we had decided that Mike Walker = Amado Crowley. There you have it: my motives were threefold, for better or worse.

As you probably already know, the word “gospel” means “good news,” and since I believe that there is good news to be had, I can’t help but share it. I apologize if I offended anyone, but I get a little miffed when all of Christendom is blamed for the persecutions and wars that were perpetrated by mainstream Christianity. That is not who I am.

@dom I just like to take surveys and get interviewed bc sometimes I like talking about myself. I still have an ego. 😀 It ‘snot’ huge but it’s there. That’s fine. It will keep slowly shrinking. Until it doesnt. Or maybe not.

I could not care less what people think about me.

@shiva As ignant said, I don’t really hold beliefs. I just have things that I think are true because I have experienced them. (OOBE’s, astral projection, ritual success, bhakti blablabla). But as AC has said who is to say, that my experiences were true? Who is to say that any experience is real 😛

@barbara ‘You are right that I did have evangelism on my mind’ I think most of us are used to receiving it, being the ‘naughty’ type. We just let it wash off our backs. I don’t think you will get any converts, but if you enjoy what you’re doin, then keep on keepin on.
If it makes you feel any better, Christians aren’t alone in mass murder, we also have Buddhists, Communists, Fascists, Atheists, Republithugs, Democrooks, Socialists, Locusts (THOSE POOR PLANTS) and on and on…. But that’s fine bc war is a good evolutionary necessity of life on a material Earth.

I, and Me, and Mine – we all have no beliefs.
(At least I belive we don’t.)

    The dust is…

cs: “… who is to say, that my experiences were true?

Why, you are. They happened, didn’t they? They’re in your memory PayPal, um, bank.

Oh sure, some day you might see them as illusionary (when seeing them from some exhaled, expansive state of awareness. But for the time being, and on their own level, they are true enough to affect your outlook (or inlook) on life … right?
