Having already earned a "Serial Poster Alert", i will take the risk of adding a time--barred inspiration to my suggested surefire "Get Rich Quick" scheme:

In addition to, naturally, like other sex toys, being sold in a range of sizes (ranging from pinky-size to the forearm-sized "Elder Thing"/"Shoggoth" monster), and a variety of lurid colors suited to the HPL theme (such as green, purple, mauve, the color out of space, etc.), the "Love-Craft" tentacled dildo/vibrators should be available in textures to include (at minimum) Squamous, Rugose, and Batrachian.

As i say, a mere wave, and the occasional malty beverage when you see me at the bar, will suffice in return for this million-dollar idea. Make that money, kids.

---------------

BTW, if you actually read Sean's book, this post is pretty OT (in addition to being just pure public service).

Still not as out there as ovipositor dildoes, which actually do exist, and include molds for making gelatin eggs for exactly what the word "ovipositor" implies.

There are, in fact, tentacle dildo/vibrators already on the market (as i learned by googling "tentacle dildo", after realizing that a sub-clause of Rule 34 ("If you can think of it, there is porn of it on the internet") surely must apply here), and some, indeed most, are sold in lurid colors, but none marketed under the "Love-Craft" name, or (and i stress this) available in Squamous, Rugose, and Batrachian texture-ways.

There is a veritable goldmine awaiting the intrepid entrepreneur who hugs this idea to his/her/their/[other pronoun]'s bosom (so to speak), and runs with it. Not literal running, which is not always easy to do with a tentacle dildo/vibrator hugged to one's bosom, especially the Batrachian model, especially if lubed. Figurative running.

Should you be foolish enough to pass up this idea, your grandchildren will (quite rightly, in my opinion) curse your name, as they sit in their hovel, in their rags of poverty, and, listlessly, sip at their daily thin, insubstantial bowls of gruel: "Why, o why, did grandpa/grandma/grand[gender suffix] fail to snap up this obvious goldmine of a free money-making opportunity, and leave us to suffer our lives away in poverty, in this hovel, in these rags of poverty, sipping, listlessly, at our daily thin, insubstantial bowls of gruel, attempting ever in vain to derive thereby sustenance, to somehow find the strength for yet another long, dreary day of begging in the street?"

It makes me sad just to think of, the sheer waste of it. I have to go have a malty beverage right now, just to attempt to steel myself against the mass of sheer indifference, and actual cruelty, that is humanity.

Happy New Vulgar Year to all lashtalians, and to all lurkers to whom these presents might come (even you, you heartless bastards with no thought whatever for the future). May the plague spare you and yours, and may the new year of the vulgar era bring you the fulfillment of All, and "a swift extinction of existence" (to quote an old AC NYE card).

And thank you so much for the review!

Earlier in this thread I asked what value this would have for someone already familiar with Grant's trilogies, Falorio's Shadow Tarot and Mishlen Linden's works derived from it, and Fries's Nightshades book.  What would you say?

@katrice - I would have zero idea, having never read a word of any of those people (and never having even ever heard of any of them besides Grant), and having no idea of any of "this kind of stuff" before reading it.

Listening to "Wolf City" by Amon Duul II, from the 1972 album of the same name, and drinking Leffe, and eating Chinese food.

Veuve Clicquot in the icebox for midnight; good fucking riddance to 2021 EV.

... we are led on a wild series of dreamlike/nightmarish guided meditations ...

The term "Guided Meditation" is common within the New-Age labyrinth, but I never noted the term in AC's writings. However, several Libers fit this definition exactly.

The nightmare series is indeed of the Typhonian, Lovecraftian style.

So, from (possible) spiritual journeys among the octupi and squid, we end up with the same bottom-line common-denominator ... $.

I have long hel forth the opinion that you gotta be careful or you'll end up making money but losing your Sol.

Need it be, though?

One could see it as like the difference between the Immanent and Transcendent branches of the LHP, in which case they aren't seen as in opposition, neither is seen as superior to the other, and they aren't seen as mutually exclusive.

"High" magick, "low" magick confusion? "Moral judgments" suggested?

Perhaps time for a word from our sponsor?:

[T]o will anything but the supreme thing, is to wander still further from it – any will but that to give up the self to the Beloved is Black Magick... [Book IV, Part II, Ch. 6, "The Wand"; emphasis in original]

One could see it as like the difference between the Immanent and Transcendent branches of the LHP, in which case they aren't seen as in opposition, neither is seen as superior to the other, and they aren't seen as mutually exclusive.

There's been some 24 page long threads here on the murky distinctions between Thelema, low or high magick and morality over the years I'm sure.   Maybe reopen them or you could start a new one?  First off, Crowley giving people advice on how not to be a black magician.  Haha c'mon.

Here's how the threads usually go; someone states that good and evil are born of human artifice and don't exist in Nature i.e evil doesn't exist.  Nature  (an artistic product of the Most High) , now that's on evil bitch; all those harmless doe-eyed bambis getting their throats ripped out by a hungry leopard...etc.  What about the hungry cute little baby leopards who need Mom and Dad to care/feed them on bambi meat?  I'm not a pig farmer but apparently when a male pig needs sex they jump on the nearest female.  Evil?  Mother Nature is evil yes.  Conveniently then we were on the subject of animals killing animals in order to merely innocently survive....... see McDonalds or any righteous Thelemite or Christian Thanksgiving party.  Meat; murdered animals.

With that said someone interjects that humans are distinct from Nature and animals so should function from a higher moral vantage point.  That will be challenged with a 'but that's too Patriarchal' and it then gets heated when Crowley's amoral quote from the Commentaries about some stars are naturally violent and doing their True Will when they rape and kill gets thrown in as well as his "ordinary morality is for ordinary people" quote.  At this point in the thread someone will throw in their 2 cents about human warfare.   All of those innocent conscripted German boys (in the 1940s) needed to be ...what's the word now .....murdered?  That triggers die-hard anti- Nazi Ignant who may then ramble on about politics how Abraham Lincoln's and King Max Robespierre's (non evil) holocausts?/genocides were justified and how Trump and the ex first lady were amoral, unrighteous and of the Black Lodge further confusing matters.  Shiva may then throw in a nine paragraph essay on the Deep State.  The thread may fizzle out when I bring in Rousseau's Noble Savage and at that point Shiva rambles on about dualism and Leary's  amoral NeuroElectric circuit and then someone will say yeah and in Cefalu Crowley had to get severe with the disciples to spiritually enlighten them etc etc.

Maybe don't start the thread...oh yeah..apologies for the sin of double posting.

I see it kind of like a music genre; if you hear of a new band you might check em out and see their approach or how the genre used them to infect others to spread varients; or something like that. Or perhaps a star seed irrigation flux ingurgitating. I will have to check out Linda Falorio and Mishlen Linden thanks. I liked Fries's Nightshades book.

Happy New Year Everyone !
Hope its a new year and not a new norm and more of the same.

Here is that unhinged Crowley quote/ reference I mentioned earlier it's from his “new comment”  AL I, 41,

Physical constraint, up to a certain point, is not so seriously wrong; for it has its roots in the original sex-conflict which we see in animals, and has often the effect of exciting Love in his highest and noblest shape. Some of the most passionate and permanent attachments have begun with rape. Rome was actually founded thereon. Similarly, murder of a faithless partner is ethically excusable, in a certain sense; for there may be some stars whose Nature is extreme violence. The collision of galaxies is a magnificent spectacle, after all.

I understand that, that's part of my interest in the book. I'd like to know if it offers anything new or if it just covers things that I've already seen.

Nightshades is a wonderful book.

Here's a link to Falorio's site The major arcana of the Shadow Tarot are the Tunnels of Set, the pips are a collection of sigils of demons, spirits, and stars. Interestingly, in light of something that just came up on this thread, she has an essay on "The Problem of Evil" on the site.

Mishlen Linden created a chapbook of rituals for use with the Shadow Tarot called Typhonian Teratomas.

happy fake Gregorian artificial time- keeping  renewal

The Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Xmas, New Year (with Black and White Fridays) is one of the biggest "scientific" jokes - one that spans the Aeons.

In the middle of all these assorted cultural festivities, the only one that has "scientific merit" would be the Winter Solstice ... since it is verifiable my measuring, math, and (to a certain extent) direct observation without instruments (a watch or clock is allowed, but no more). The birthdays of popular dead people (resurrected or otherwise), and the acknowledgment of historical events, just because they are close to the Sol-stice must be disregarded as politico-religious fiddling or mental instability.

The Sun stops falling southward, once annually. That's it. When it stops dead at the infinitesimally tiny fraction of a time particle (its semi-annual zero-point), all the raving rabble rush forward to impose their history, their god, their time system, upon the simple stoppage.

Since NO TIME SYSTEM has been developed that EXACTLY coincides (synchronizes) with the natural solar rhythm, we see a perfect example of "Reason is a Lie."

Crowley giving people advice on how not to be a black magician.  Haha c'mon.

The principle he (AC) cites (gives sight to) is proper, correct, and true. It describes the dharana that one must embed if they are to make it out in this (any) lifetime.

The personal application (AC's citing-sighting) may potentially be interpreted in the contect of "Do as I write, not as I do-do."

For the recorded Record recording, this thread is not being ripped apart with persona-character assassinations, downgrading of ascent, and wild personal preferences. Do not take New Year's Day Hysteria due to Drink, or Etc, seriously.

And remember to always look at things from the viewpoint of the Sun (Fr Achad paraphrase).

It probably won't offer the well read you something new; with perhaps the exception of using the mechanism that a class of being without beginning as the case maybe; can be begotten through an anthropomorphic image and a deliverance and a cross over may eventuate.

Its along the lines of
Ordo Templi Orientis Antiqua, The Black Snake, Abbé Boullan, Eugène Vintras, Lovecraft, Grant.

Will have to get some books

Well didn't the Sumerians try to make it 360 days a year?  Same degrees as a circle.  As we now know it's an elliptical i.e. egg shaped orbital.  The real orbital then is 365.242 'days' long.

There is bias towards the Light also.  A day, fudged as 24 hours actually consists of a day and a night.  Anyway different cultures have kept time in their own way.  We all know when it's day and when it's night.  In Europe we know when the four seasons start.....well, we used to  before global warming.  Trees shed leaves and it's Autumn etc.   I think we could only do a rough estimate of the amount of 'days' that any one season consists of.   One thing is for sure and can't be denied and that's the eight phases of the Moon.  I haven't checked it out but I hear that this is why the Jews and Muslims use these lunar phases as a more realistic time-keeper.

What are you doing here (above)? Isn't genetic manipulation illegal in the USA and the UK? (USA + UK = 93; try to remember that, please).

Well didn't the Sumerians try to make it 360 days a year?  Same degrees as a circle.

Yes, they did. Apparently, they had problems with counting. The AEgyptians grabbed that calendar, but threw in some extra days (the "dog days") after Sirius rose, so they apparently could count and they came about as close as Julius and Greg. We now have "perfect" atomic clocks, but our moonths are irregular and have no-thing to do with the Moon. The Mayans were onto the Moon, and they had 13 Moonths (synced with the Moon), plus one "Free Day" (July 25) every year - this one was good ('til it expired), but the Christians payed no mind because they're obsessed with the number 12 (months, hours on a clock face - non-military, please, apostles, gates in the Big Temple in the Sky, etc).

The problem (our problem) is that in nature, there is nothing likr a straight line or a perfect circle.

Posted by: @david-dom-lemieux

... a day and a night.

And here's a funny (?) offshoot: A bunch of volunteers went to live for a long time in Carlsbad Caverns (NM) - out of the sunlight and surface rhythms. They all fell into a "natural" (for them) pattern of "days" (wake-sleep cycles) of 25 hours.

This obviously indicates that we are all alien beings from some 25-hour rotatory, abandoned or lost on a 24-hour planet.

Posted by: @tiger

Are you trying to get to Universe B ?

Yes. I don't get to work on time at all, ever, any more.

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

But is that Neither-Neither?

Neti-neti. The true answer is "both" (simulaneously). Good luck!

Holy leaping voltigeurs seaping through the weaving spiders web.
Its hard to concentrate.
Anyone dare jiggle about for a moment to attract the kisses of the Spider ?
Or care to elucidate on the path and tunnel between Yesod and Binah;
to loosen the veil of the Mysteries of the union of lilîtu and Samael guardian of the threshold, and of Pan, Baphomet, and Mako (Set) the son of Typhon, with the gate of primordial femine essence; and the Covenant of ST, or Set which contributed to Achad the voltigeur jumping from Yesod to Binah ? And visit the City of Choronzon which resides in the Abyss ? - material from the Tunnels of Qulielfi, Night Side of Eden starting Pg 239

This is because your Banishing needs a touch more polishing, or a touche with more fire.

Well, yeah, that's the JumpClaimer's route. Some (i.e., Motta) jump from 0=0 to a temporary Yesod (which is astral glamour), where they get the idea that they are the Chosen One, and the highway to Binah unfolds like the crack of a whip (Snap! Instant Mastery). Things usually don't work out well for JumpClaimers.

voltigeur

I had to look this one up. It's French, and I don't do well with that lingo.

"voltigeur  - "A leaper; a vaulter."

Leaping lepers and vaulting volters better be a consciously-incarnated avatar (in which case, they know what they're doing) or they better skip the shortcut shinola in favor of properly building each floor of their skyscraper.

" Leaping lepers and vaulting volters better be a consciously-incarnated avatar (in which case, they know what they're doing) or they better skip the shortcut shinola in favor of properly building each floor of their skyscraper. "

Sheesh how sound !
But i hear there are leaps and jumps in consciousness beyond tier and tunnel constructs;
And one might seep out, or leap to get beyond.
Ok;
I guess i'll let seepers that seep in
and the leapers that grab you out;
go;
and see wherehow eveything winds out.
In the mean time; back to basics.
inhale exhale.

Yes, yes, and yea verily. You are not prohibited from jumping wherever you will, wish, or want. Just don't take a short trip and come back saying, "I am the Ip," and expect a certificate or a shrine.

Oh, Frater Trout. How direct your pronouncements are!

Well, the usual jump is to 8=3, that being the traditional route. But McM went directly from 0=0 (expelled) to 9=2. However these lesser grades are known, and people have been known to claim them. The School of Sink or Swim is then convened.

But I have heard rumors of people out there (on the wild world web), and seen pictures of them, and I think there are videos but I never watched them ... about people openly claiming and publickly stating that they are an Ip.

Say, we know this is against the rules - but who's going to call them on it? The Thelemic Police Department? I have enough trouble claiming my own virginity (is that the correct word?) to get involved in their megalomania.

Careful with Grant!

In my experience merely reading those paragraphs opens up your soul into vast subterranean spaces peopled by various Qliphoth /Qlipha and starts the 'alien beacon' beaming atop your head!

Prepare the landing pad!

You don't even need to read them to open the Gates.  Just holding them in your hands for any number of days will do it....

🙂

thanks for the review 'hit'  . I think I will check out the new edition when it is in colour

Thank you for the endorsement. It was actually my mother-in-law who made the rain stop with the egg and salt on the window sill "like we do at the beach".

Were you allowed to eat the egg after? Pisces here

I believe the 13th sign of the zodiac for this egg-stra month with the Spider.

All here is an interesting link on this Brompton Cemetary time machine I had never heard of.

This is a really fascinating story. I hadn't heard of it before this thread. Now I want to visit London.

I knew what you meant. 😀

Arachne is mid May to mid June, I think.  And of dubious origin, not that that makes it less legitimate than a lot of other things.  😉 The 13th sign I mentioned is Ophiuchus.

I have not had that experience. In fact, I have read them. I found a couple key points that influenced my direction, but overall I think your experience is not universal and your Application to issue Liber Book-Holding cannot be approved at this time.

It's all mixed up now ... but there is evidence that there were 13 signs. The Mayans had 13 moon cycles. The Harmonic Conversion tablets of exposition (by Jose and Nadine Arguelles) tell us that the evil priests of Jupiter stole (hid) the 13th month when they released the 12-month calendar back in Olden Meso-land - 12 being the number of enslavement, whose motto is Time is Money

Yeah, that was the Last Straw and the Breaking Point. Achad claimed Ip and started telling Therion, a mere 9=2, what to do. I personally followed this story by reading the Crowley-Achad correspondence. I have never really known how far he took his Jump, publicly that is.

However, after following the lines and connecting the dots in reference to II:76, it seems Achad solved "31," the Key of it all, and then Crowley applied 31 to a partial numbering of II:76, and the proclaimed that Achad had solved II:76. This, along with the true spelling of BafometR, stands as a primary example of QBL-Fiddling.

I will grant 31 was a practical discovery by Achad and will issue a Certificate to that effect, suitable for framing (frame not included, get your own frame), for only $75 plus shippping, handling, tax, and import/export duties. However, no certificates relating to Achad actually solving the Labyrinthine Scribble are currently available at any price.

You may, of course, issue your own Certificates of Authenticity regarding Intellectual Discovery Property, assigning credit where due, and you may charge whatever fees you wish - price controls are not in effect (yet).

It's all mixed up these days. The Romans had ten months (aargh!). The year started in March. Then they slipped in 2 extra months (Maybe July et August? Julius et Augustus? - I really dunno this part).

Anyway they reorganized the year into 12, like in Olden Meso, and transmitted to AEgypt, and like it seems to have settled in as the constant in astrological charts.

The Art and the weight of the medium can have an effect; a Gate might become accessible; but one has to gain entrée. Now if you open the book and peer in; you might find unexpectedly that chthonic expanses, from beyond, have interwoven with the dubious aspect of the conscious subterfuge that continually arises. If you wish to extricate the former self before you got wound up in the web. You could try the method of taking one thorn to remove the other and then throw them both out. Or convince yourself that fiction has no power except yours and poof unreal back again !

Oh, just stop it, now.

Also: Good Luck!

A Grant book suggests putting the image of ...

image

... on your craft - and the squids and other scary things will leave you alone. I hearbuy testify that I have attempted this maneuver (more than once), and it works.

Quite well, in fact. I don't know how I got into this primordial soup, but I wonder if it isn't inter-between-dimensions (like planes AEthyrs or sephiroth are the dimensions), but my third time was within the past few months.

My future self was pulling my past self into the developed harbor of the present. I was in asana for what seemed like an hour long moment; when some of the logs half out of the water seemed to have blinked. A vision of a snake that turned out to be rope or a vision of a rope that really took effect as a snake took place; with a thousand tentacled eye witnessing. I placed the attention on the crown cap with hearts; something will be fed; and the waves of impression turned beauteous.
Thanks for the image from the Grant book and your maneuver.
There seems to be some sort of undercurrent beneath the span of months.

There seems to be some sort of undercurrent beneath the span of months.

It is called Eternity, and it has the capacity to dwarf months in years, decades, aeons, and Hindoo Ages. Our pea-brains are not wired for such expansion ... why should they be? - except for a glimpse of our shortness, from time to time.

The same applies to space - no limit, no end. That vector is called Infinity.

Infinity et Eternity intersect and at that junction, a speck of consciousness is added. Then we see you, a point of perception mounted upon an intersection of time and space in the real-time here-and-now. Here (there) you are, fully integrated and King of the Hill ... and you wonder about the undercurrent?

The undercurrent is him, the Asura of Distraction. We have heard him called Mara, the Lord of Illusion, but around here we know him as Choron- (Refers to Chrono-  "time") -zon (Zone = "space").

In the ocean, the undercurrent is the undertow. Both "unders" have a common goal: To snag the smarts of the yogi/yogini and drag them into the greater manifested whole. The manifested dual one. Thus, by virtue of your perception, you have not been whisked away to Shamballa, but you have returned to write your post and post your warning.

Um, I forgot. What was your warning, again?

Oh i don't know.
Maybe, just that the Kalki Kings are planning an over throw in order to correct some things.
But the Nagini's are ok with the human realm bringing about their own demise, because it could be incorporated in the process of the great dissolution. Though some are saying let the humans work to develop their own prison.
