Jerusalem Press invites you to join us to celebrate the launch of our latest title, Refractions. This is the follow up to Cockney Visionary, collating talk transcripts and new essays on Austin Spare, along with a fully illustrated list of works from the 2010 exhibition Fallen Visionary. This is the most abundantly illustrated book on Spare currently in print with over 200 colour and 100 B&W images.
Appropriately enough this will take place at the Cuming Museum, south London.
There will be an informal gathering for contributors and subscribers to mingle, and a chance to catch up with some original Spare art works. To register your attendance please RSVP to:
cuming.museum@southwark.gov.uk
As well as the permanent collection of Cuming family curiosities and ethnological artefacts, there will be the opportunity to view Austin Spare’s Theurgy, his early self-portrait, and two townscape watercolours (all featured in Cockney Visionary). A selection of our titles will also be available.
time – 2 to 5pm
date – Saturday 11 August 2012
venue – Cuming Museum, 151 Walworth Road, Southwark, London SE17 1RY
Admittance is free with (small) donations suggested to cover refreshments.
